My daughter is a preemie now and we have done the hunt. OUr experience has been Walmart and Babies R Us have the best selection you will find in local stores. Just and FYI- We have 2 walmarts near us and one has next to nothing and the other has a ton. Online for really cute preemie stuff that your daughter can ware up to around 7 lbs is http://www.janieandjack.com. You have to look under girls layettes and then search by size. Doll clothes sometimes work, but the neck on doll clothes is often too small for a real baby.
Have you thought of doll clothing? This may seem a bit odd but some of them are nicer quality…

ebay has lots of preemie clothing-new and used, at great prices.
Go to Buy, then Clothing/shoes etc. and select infants and toddlers, then preemie.

I was going to say Babies R Us, but since you already tried that, how about Carter’s? I’ve seen some preemie outfits there, but you may have to ask for help finding them.

I wouldnt buy preemie because its a waste..in a matter of a week or 2 she should start to fit in normal newborn clothing and it may be a tad big on her but at least she will get her wear out of them. Not sure if you have a marshalls or ross near you but i got alot of newborn clothing for my daughter who was 5 weeks early…although she was 6lbs 8oz witch is a good size for her being early…she did lose some weight and came home at 5lbs 14oz.
Wal Mart is usually the best place- the one where I live has numerous preemie outfits. You could also try Ross, JC Penney, Target, Gymboree, Children’s Place…
i had to get my son’s preemie clothes at wally world and jc pennys is where i got mine from!! hope this helps you out!
walmart, sears, carters children’s wear all sell preemie clothes. try a different walmart because they all carry different things, here our walmart has a bunch. oh yeah dillards also sells them
if you don’t mind getting some used you could try craigslist just wash them before you use them.
also the baby gowns might be a better option for a bit. also kmart sells preemie size onesies. maybe other things to never checked.
maybe try babiesrus online? i have always seen plenty of preemie clothing in our store..
I weighed 4 pounds when I was born and my mom said she bought some doll clothes for me, also my Grandmother was a seamstress so she made a lot of my clothes for me out of patterns for doll dresses. Know anyone who can sew?
I had a friend that had twin preemie girls and she went to Build A Bear in the mall and bought her babys clothing out of there. Its a really good idea because its actual clothes just tiny.
