When is the right time to have a baby shower?
Im about 7 months pregnant and I was just wondering when I should start planning for my baby shower. Lots of people said that it should be when you find out the gender of your baby, but I have no idea.

Right now would be a good time. You are going into the Holiday Season which isn’t always the best time to get the most wonderful attendance at a shower due to pre-committed Holiday Events (corporate Xmas parties, etc). But I would try to have it in the next 4-6 weeks so that you don’t wind up having a MEET THE BABY celebration!
Congratulations and Have Fun!
I have a Free Baby Shower Guide on my site with a lot of really useful information. Please feel free to check it out and inspire you to throw a really memorable shower!
I had mine about three weeks before my due date primarily because Christmas interfered. My baby was due on Valentine’s Day so I needed to let people recover from holiday buying before thinking about my baby. Most of the time they occur around 7.5 to 8 months. Some people even have them after the baby is born so they know exactly what they need. It all depends on when you would like to have it to be honest though. I would suggest when you are least miserable which occurs closer to your due date. Congrats.
I had my daughter in late March and had the baby shower in early February.
I had mine when I was 7 months pregnant and it was great. Your not huge yet so you can still be comfratable. I waited till birth to find out the gender ( it’s better that way believe me !!!!!! ) and I just registered for neutral things.
I would have it soon. Some women wait and then have pre term labor…..then when will you have the shower? You’ll be to busy with the baby.
Well it all depends on even if you want to find out that is totally up to you, I never did and they bought neutral clothing Im sure it would have made it easier but I wanted it to be a surprise. I had my baby shower when I was about 7 1/2 months pregnant and it was a blast so much fun and I got alot of neat things. My advice to you would be try to do it before you are 8 months pregnant. That’s what I wanted to do. Well congrats and good luck with the baby shower
Hey
I think anywhere from 7 to 8 1/2 months is a good time. That way you know the gender (unless you chooe not to find out), you have the baby-bump so you can get lots of good pictures and do things at your shower like making belly casts, but it’s not TOO close your due date, in case you go early. Organize it for when you know you will have the time and when you know others will be free. Just make sure it isn’t too close to Christmas!
Goodluck and congrats!
I had mine at 29 wks, I WAS going to have it at 33 wks BUT, I had a high risk pregnancy so we had to reschedule it incase I had her earlier, but I ended up going to 37wks 2days along anyway
p
You can have a shower whenever you want, but you shouldn’t be planning your baby shower, a friend or family member should be throwing it. I had mine when I was 7 1/2 months, my MIL threw it for me…she planned it with enough time that I could have everything ready before my due date (although he didn’t come until 41 weeks + 3 days) and still have time to pick up anything I didn’t receive that I thought I might need. I wouldn’t recommend announcing the gender before the shower, if you do, you will only get blue/pink everything and will mostly get little outfits and fuzzy blankets. Clothes are fun to buy, you may not get the things you actually need. I’ve seen it happen so many times, it’s not even funny. Good luck
Baby showers are held when the mom is at least seven or eight months pregnant, when her tummy is very obvious already.
You should have your baby shower one month before the babies arrival. Anything later and the baby might be joining you guys.
