When can you start letting your baby sleep with a blanket?
I have always done exactly what the doctor us regarding the sleeping arrangments. He sleeps in his crib that has a mattress and fitted sheet and that’s it. No stuffed animals, no blankets..etc. He is a year old now and I’m wondering if it’s okay to throw a blanket in there- he’s sleeping all through the night and wearing footed pajamas so he’s not getting cold or anything. It’s not like I’m trying to rush it I’m just wondering when do you finally let them sleep with blankets?

I started letting my daughter sleep with a blanket at about a year when she had good mobility, but our doc told us 2 years is what they recommend. It would depend on your little ones mobility. Even though my daughter is advanced in her mobility I still removed the blanket just to be safe. I just do as you do and keep her in warm jammies
My 11 month old has had a small stuffed bear and a blanket for probably a month now.
I don’t remember how old she was, but I let my daughter sleep with a blanket when she could easily move it out of her way, like take it off her body, etc. That way I figured if it got on her face and she was having trouble breathing she could move it….
My daughter is a yr old and she has slept with a blanket, since she was 2 mos old.So i”d say it’s time:). -Go Snuggle your baby-:))
I think my daughter was about a year old when I let her start sleeping with a blanket. Once I was sure she could move the blanket if it got in her face and was coordinated enough to move around the crib, then I added the blanket. I probably could have let her sleep with a blanket earlier, but like you, I wanted to make sure that I did everything I could to keep my baby safe.
