What to get my friend for her baby shower?

I’m trying to figure out what to get her. I’m thinking shes already getting lots of baby clothes from relatives, and other needs for her baby. I was thinking a frame that has a place for each month of the baby’s first year, or a memory book. I’ve never been to a baby shower so yeah I need some suggestions.

Best gift to get ..honestly…gift card to Babiesrus…or whatever baby store is near you (Walmart or Target) Or did she register @ one of the stores I listed? Here are a few ideas:
Bumbo chair
Bouncer chair
Newborn Diapers/diaper cream/lotion soap…you could make a little basket of all this.
Diapers…lots of diapers. They are not cheap and the new mom never has enough. Pampers makes an Earth friendly diaper that many new moms want now. She will get clothes, bath accessories, blankets, etc from everyone but what guests don’t take into consideration is what she REALLY needs besides all the pretties! Baby themometer, bottle warmer, the diapers, lots of onesies for constant changes when the baby is so small, nail clippers. Make your own basket of these items and wrap it with pretty colored siran and ribbon. Believe me, she will appreciate it so much. Add that special stuffed animal in the middle too!
those are nice things you can also try some wipes or diapers not new born but like a size 1 i got diapers and wipes as one of my gifts on my baby shower and you cant imagine what a big help it makes. plus the first 2 months people really don’t want to go out with newborns so its a big help. lol im sure whatever you decide will be great. good luck
A frame is a good idea, a memory book is also good, but depending on her other obligations, she may not have time to fill it… There are also the basics that you can never have enough of, like diapers and wipes ( buy size 1 or 2 diapers, because babies grow fast). As silly as it sounds, a small mommy gift is also great ( like if you got baby bath stuff, throwing in a loofah or bath salts for the mom).
I have been to MANY baby showers the best gifts I found are:

formula
and a Premie outfit (even a 8lbs baby can not fit 0-3 mons and most new moms don’t buy peemie they will need preemie for the 1st couple weeks)
definitely diapers wont hurt! i know i did not want to get out with a newborn to go get a box of diapers! i looked a hot mess 24/7 and was so tired. plus i couldnt walk for almost 6 wks postpartum because i tore so bad. there is no telling what could happen to the mother or baby during labor and delivery so having diapers and wipes on hand is amazing! probably size 1 or 2 would be good to get. my son wasnt in newborn for a long time. i agree with others getting a small mommy gift would be nice also. maybe getting her favorite bubble bath and putting together a small basket for her for a relaxing bath. or you could wait and get her something she really needs after the shower and after you see what she has gotten. i still needed a few important things after my 2 showers and was glad to get them from friends.
