What should the dimensions of a baby blanket be?

I am crocheting a baby blanket for my coworker who is due in January, and I was wondering what the dimensions should be, in feet by feet, or inches by inches. If anyone is curious, I am using Sugar N Cream in it’s "Lime Stripes" self-striping variety. I am crocheting it using a G-10.5 hook.

It’s been a long time since I made on, but back when I used to crochet i made them around 3′ x 4′ or so.
The dimensions of a baby blanket are fairly fluid. In other words, if it isn’t exact, it’s not a huge deal.
Try something around 32 X 36, give or take some in either direction.
I have always made my baby blankets 40 inches square. They’re a little bit bigger so they can be used for a longer time as the little ones get bigger.
depends on what the blanket will be used for. you can try something along the lines of 3′*4′
I’ve always used 36"x42" — give or take, of course. It’s not an exact science, as I’m sure you’re well aware. If you want a definitive answer, go online and look at ready-to-purchase baby blankets. Dimensions are almost always given. Use those dimensions, if you like.
I try and do a 36×36 but sometimes have made them the size of a crib mattress. Depends on what you want it used for, simple throw it over the car seat or would you like it to grow with the baby. Good Luck
