My daughters took an ultrasound picture and got it framed and had a matt put around it where people could sign messages to the baby and family…we have it in lilas room, and its so neat to read what people wrote.
strip poker.
Melt and smush different foods into diapers and have folks smell em and try to figure out what they are.
you can purchase a small scrapbook and have the guests make small 5×7 pages and the parents can fill them with pics when there new one comes along.
As the guests enter the party, pass out nice pieces of scrapbook paper so that each person can write something to the mother and baby. Afterwards, collect all of the paper and assemble them into a nice scrapbook along with party pictures to present to the mother.
We had a teddy bear picnic theme and had all the guests bring something for the couples picnic basket(diaper bag) which we purchased and had at the entrance for greeting and sign in. Everyone was to bring something for the basket(bag) for the couples big picnic(birth of their child). It was so successful that the mother left with 2 huge bags of goodies from enthusiatic guests. It ranged from disposible camera, pacifier, wipes, undershirts-you name it!! The game was a mystery diaper bag contest and the person that bought the pre-decided mystery item won!
By some of the other answers, I am confused?
I thought you were looking for a game idea.
A good game is;
Swaddle the baby. See if anyone even knows how to do it correctly.
Most people now days don’t even know what the word means.
this is one you can us at a baby shower or a wedding shower:
as the guest of honor is opening presents write down all the adjective and adverb phrases that she says when seeing the present. After she is finish opening presents read them out loud saying ..this what was said during the night the baby was conceived (baby shower)
this is what was said on the honeymoon night (wedding shower)
We did the coolest game at my daughter’s shower.
Get a big bag of rice and safety pins. the size that are about an inch long. Mix it all up in a bowl…….blindfold each ‘partcipant’ and see how many they can find by feeling only in a given amount of time. Be SURE they cannot see. You will be shocked at how hard it is to feel the difference. The smaller the pin, the harder to find. You might want to try it out first to see what size pin works best. Have fun!!!
You could get supplies for scrap booking and do something like the letter writing you mentioned. People can use the supplies to make their own page (or share a page with someone) to put in the book. You can also get a Polaroid camera or use a digital one and get precut 4×6 photo paper and put someone in charge of printing on demand. That way guests can put photos from the shower on their pages.
And for fun game ideas…at my shower everyone was instructed to bring a photo of themselves as a baby. The pics were given a number and arranged on a table. During the mingling/eating part of the party guests were given a piece of paper and they had to try to guess who was in the pics. The winner got the prize (in our case it was a bath/soap set that one of the hosts brought).
