Get him a leapfrog Baby Leappad. They’re about $30. Plus, you can get additional books for it so he’ll NEVER get bored with it. Leapfrog makes quality educational toys. That’s what I get everyone for 1st b-day parties. My daughter loved hers and all her little friends have loved theirs as well.
If you want a more expensive gift, go for the Fisher Price Learning House. My daughter plays with that for hours at a time and she has since she was about 9 months old. She’s 32 months now. It’s a winner, but I think it costs about $60… Well worth the money though.
A great toybox…….
OK. I know you said no plastic but…my son just turned one in September. Among other things, we gave him a gear toy (I think Fisher Price makes it). It plays music but isn’t too obnoxious. There are about 12 gears that he can take off and put back on and when he pushes the button they spin around. He loves it and so does his big sister (she’s just turned three). Another great toy is a rocking horse. He might be a little young for it now but will grow into it in just another month or two. We have a couple of winners…one is from again Fisher Price I think and plays cowboy music. Another version is really a trike but the handle to push it flips under so it can rock too. He can rock on it this year, be pushed on it next year, and peddle it the year after, and the year after that. OK…so they’re all plastic, but still look great and get LOTS of use.
My aunt got her granddaughter 1 share of Disney stock then had it mounted and framed. I think she said it was about 66 dollars. I guess the stock certificate if really neat looking. Savings bonds are also a good idea. For one of my nephews birthdays I started the state quarter collection.
playstation 3 !! his father will just love you !!
the hottest time for the wee ones is fisher price bounce and spin zebra.
A great gift would be a savings bond. You can buy them at your bank. The cost is 1/2 of the face value. Ex a $200 bond is $100. They have to mature, but is a great way to give a gift that will be appreciated in a few years when they need it. Mine got bonds and used them to help buy a car when they turned 16.
get him a blaket. I know babies they blaket.
