shave the balloon and hide surprises in diapers and fill the empty ones with mustard. Make the games co-ed too
If there is a sports game on that day, they could watch that together and maybe have more "manly" type snacks for them to enjoy…and beer???
At my friends babyshower she had her hubby there and his nephew there and we had kids there. The guys just went out in the garage and watched tv and us women stayed in the house and played games and the little ones played.
i agree with the first person. make the games co-ed, after all, the guy will have a part in the birth. or if its just gonna be a womanly get together. maybe rent some sports movies, horror movies, etc etc, that the guys could watch to keep them entertained, unless there is a sports game. maybe get some guy snacks and beer!
At a baby shower (ladies only) that I went to, there were a ton of guests. The hostess wisely feed everyone first. The games were to be next. Before the food was served, she said that whoever wanted to play should eat in the living room, but whoever would prefer not to play should eat in the kitchen or on the deck.
The guests split basically in half. The women who didn’t like shower games had the option of sitting and talking or playing badminton or volleyball which had been set up in the backyard. The deck had very comfortable chairs set up with an awning which was purposefully arrange to be conducive to talking. Extra food was also set out on the deck that was not included on the buffet table.
The cake and coffee / tea was served to the non-players first . When the games were over, the rest of the guests had their cake and coffee. Everyone was invited to come back into the living room to hear a short talk from the mother thanking everyone for coming, hearing about the plans for the baby’s birth, and current status of nursery setup (She talked for less than 10 minutes). Then, they did the gift opening.
After the gift opening, the prizes from the games were handed out. And a small "thanks for coming" gift was given to everyone – chocolates.
Everyone had a great time.
blind fold them and feed them baby food, and have them guess what kind they are eating…its always a hit.
well at my shower the guys joined in on the games..the best one being "dont break the water" which is where u have to put a water baloon between your legs and run to a finish line without breaking or dropping the balloon!! very fun and guys get to see how embarassing it will be for us!! lol good luck!!
Let the guys have a room to themselves….let them play Poker. Send them a seperate invite…or one that is in with their spouse’s. The "Buy In" would be a package of diapers. Texas Hold ‘Em would be the best game….everyone knows that these days because of the popularity of World Series of Poker. Think of something creative for the chips….maybe buy some inexpensive ones and decorate the centers with baby stickers??
The "winner" should get a really nice gift certificate to some manly place like Best Buy or Home Depot!! Let them eat chips and drink soda (or even beer if it is that kind of crowd). Poker night for the gents….while the ladies ooooh and ahhhh over the cute little pajamas. Everyone Wins!!
