My son’s favorite toys are the ones he can chew on. Those plastic stacking rings are really good, as are those different shaped blocks that go through their own little holes in a lid. He also loves to cuddle with stuffed animals (especially this little lamb that his aunt got him when he was born) and absolutely loves pushing buttons that make noise. Every baby is different though. Find out what your child likes more, and don’t worry about name brands. Get what looks more fun in the eyes of a 7 month old. Something sweet, simple, and desireable.
Actually I personally think today’s children have too many toys. By the time the holidays roll around, birthdays, etc, etc, the parents have a MOUNTAIN of toys, and most of them don’t get played with. I think fewer toys are better with lots of attention from an adult is best.
Fisher Price stacking bowls. My son loves these! You can stack them up or make balls from them. My son loves to chase the balls around the floor. They were a gift, but they aren’t expensive and provide so much entertainment. Recommended for age 6 months and up.
Some type of car or truck that the baby can first push, then use as a beginning to walk toy, and then a ride on toy. My son has a Tonka shape sorting truck. I think it was around $50. Recommended for age 9 months and up.
My son was done with his exersaucer by this age. He wanted to be able to scoot/crawl around.

Plastic bowls, wooden spoons, a ball he can roll, saucepans to bang with the wooden spoons, cardboard boxes to put things in and take things out. Too much plastic is boring. lots of time and attention and a few bits and pieces are best and ita all free as you have them at home anyway
