My husband and I were thinking of putting our daughters toy chest underneath her toddler bed. We are planning on building this for her. We want her to be able to access her toys in the daytime and sleep on her bed at night. But him and I can’t seem to agree on how to keep her fingers from getting smashed. But then again we don’t know what is the best way to do it either. Can someone help us out and lead us in the right direction.

When is it ok to put toys in his crib?

I have an almost 5 month old and I am wondering if it is ok to put a couple toys in his crib. He has been sleeping with his burp cloth for months. Randomly he wakes up in the middle of the night when he has been sleeping 10 hrs for the past 2 months. I usually end up giving him play time. Can I just put the toys in there so I don’t have to get up?

I want to donate my babies swing, bouncer, playpen as well as a toddler bed and lots of toys but I just want to make sure it would go to a good non-profit organization where it will be used for its intended purpose; for people in need. As well as clothing for children and adults.

Would an infant room for children at a hotel be a good idea? The room would be a public area and have a rocker, toys, changing table, etc. What else should be offered?

I just think it’s ridiculous to be honest. I know no-one’s perfect, and I’m not necessarily getting at teenage pregnancy itself, I’m getting at how much pressure SOME teen mums put on their parents and how much they expect from them. For example, I know this girl who’s 17 and has a baby, and her mum babysits a lot of the time and let’s the her daughter go out and get drunk. I’m sorry, but as a teen mum, you should miss out on those things, it’s your own fault for getting pregnant in the first place. And she’s working all the time while her mum is at home with the baby, I’m sorry but it’s her child so she should look after it. And also the baby seems to have all these expensive luxuries and toys, like a bath seat, a drawing table, designer clothes, a ball pool, I’m sorry but it should only have the basics, especially when the taxes we pay go towards that. And that family always seem to be going on expensive holidays! And they’re not particularly rich either. I also some teen mums who go off to university. I don’t know they can afford it, and I can’t believe they’re parents actually look after their child while they’re at uni.

If I let him roam around the house he’ll get into everything. He’ll break stuff and throw everything in the floor. He’s just a mess and I can’t keep up with him and get anything else done. SO I was putting him in the play pen. He hated it and I don’t blame him. He’ll scream the whole time he’s in it. So I got a couple baby gates to keep him out of the kitchen and sometimes in his room. I’m still getting the same reaction. Right now, he’s in there playing with toys and crying at the same time because he can’t get past the gate. Will he eventually get used to being "in jail" ? What can I do to keep him content while I get my work done around the house?
His father thinks being in the play pen or room by himself or atleast without me is good for him (in short periods) because it will make him more independent and also develop his relationship with his brother and sister. (they play with him alot while im not) Oponions?

My 18 month old daughter has a facination with putting diapers on her toys, I know when I was a child I had a doll that fit in baby clothes. Every doll I’m finding is like + and I refuse to pay that for a doll that she’s just going to drag around and get dirty. Any ideas?

I have six year old step-daughter, she lives with her mom so my husband and I only get her maybe two weekends a month. We have the second bedroom set up for her, but I am pregnant with our first child together and I don’t know if we can quite afford a three bedroom home. How can I decorate this nursery? If we only get my husband’s daughter once or twice a month, is it wrong to just leave her bed in there and her toys and go ahead and decorate the nursery for the baby as I want? I don’t want to push her out or her to be jealous of the baby. What do you think? Any ideas?
