I’m having trouble finding soft (pre-walking) baby shoes in a large enough size for my baby. He wears a 5-1/2 extra wide shoe. I have searched the internet (i.e. Stride Rite, Robeez, BobuxUSA, amongst others) and have gone into multiple stores. So far, I have not found a baby shoe that is appropriate for him in his size. I am looking for a shoe that will protect him from the cold (snowy) weather where I live and that will be comfortable for him. Any suggestions???

I know the recommendation is bare foot till 2 years old or light-weight flexible shoes. The salesman at Stride Rite told us that my son already has a wide feet & allowing him to go barefoot or wear light-weight shoes will only make his feet more wide.
I’ll be asking our pediatrician next week. Any info on this?

My baby is 9 months old and walking. We had her measured at Stride Rite, and she is size 3 1/2. They didn’t carry any of those walking shoes in her size (at the store). My mom says that she should have those traditional white high ankle style walking shoes to start out with. Are these necessary, because I’ve seen lots of sneakers in her size, but not that support the ankle. Do babies really need those funny looking white shoes with the ankle support?

Baby shoes, which ones are good for a 1 year old who just started walking?
by himself but still holds our hands pretty often. i heard i should get soft shoes, but are the stride rite soft enough, until now he had the robeez booties for when he walked on our hand.
please help, how soft do they have to be??? those i saw are not as soft as the robeez, but still softer than firm ones, but not so bendable .
thanks

My son is 11 months old and has started to walk everywhere. I want to go out and buy shoes but I can’t find anywhere besides Stride Rite that will help me and tell me if they fit right or not. I just don’t like any shoes at Stride Rite and they are too expensive. So if someone can tell me how to make sure they fit right I would really appreciate it!

I am a firm believer in the bare foot baby. with my oldest she wore socks and booties until she showed signs she was ready to start walking and then i bought her a pair of stride rite(sp?) shoes, what are your opinions on this?
