Ok, my 17 month old little boy is an absloute joy! Never the less, my little boy is just that… an energetic little boy! Being a single mother living with family, i have to keep my infant son’s crib in my room with me. The past few months, as he’s gotten older and more mobile, he’s spent more and more time standing on the side of his crib babbling away to me and just being a cute little boy.

Now…. ive never noticed this a much before, but im sure he did it (cuz he was smaller, so it was never a problem b4!) The width of each of the gaps between the vertical bars on his crib are about 2 1/4". This clearly passes the "soda can" test and all the usually safety standards! My son sticks one of his legs through the gap but it usually get suck on his chubby little thighs when he tries to pull it out ( sometimes he’ll bend his knee and that makes it even harder to get out!) This has become so common place that I keep a bottle of lotion on my night stand! Bathing his leg in lotion is the only way i can get it to slip out!

Im sure this hurts him, and of course that hurts me! This reason is obviously why I want to find a way to prevent this from happening any more. I’m also scared that, as he grows and his leg gets larger, he is going to get it stuck for good and the lotion trick wont work any more. We may even have to cut the wood bars to get his leg out! Of course my son and his body are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more important than his crib, but if both injurys to boy and crib can be prevented, that would be ideal! Any Advice?!?!?!
Thanks guys, there’s some pretty good answers in there! I really like the mosquito netting idea.Being a former Girl Scout, i forgot how useful those things can be! I’ve also used the plastic mesh made for decks,on the railing around our stairs(where the gaps are much larger.) The "t-bed" option wont work right now. Our room is loft-style so space is extremely limited. Also, i hope i didnt come off as if im just trying to dump my kid in there all day and im restricting his freedom out of pure lazyiness. Ive tried bumpers, but he just rips them off of the string thats tied to the bed. I asked this question out of safetly for my child. It’s a bummer that other parents have to go through this, but it is comforting to know that im not the only mom facing his dilemma! Im going to try the M-Net first. This seems to be a habit with him, not an atempt to escape. So,im figuring, i wont need anything super strong, just some sort of barrier to lessen the ease of this activity. Thanks guys!

Premature Infant Question?

I’m not too familiar with premies, but I have a child in my room at the daycare I work at. He is 14 months old, size 3-6 month clothes are baggy on him, his soft spot is about the size of the top of a soda can and it is sunken in a pretty good bit. He crawls and pulls himself up but when assisted to walk he stiffens himself up to where he is very rigid and wont move anything. Is this normal for infants this age and being premature, or is there something wrong.

Also the childs physican has stated that he is normal size for his age group and that he has no medical problems at all when the child has sever exemia.
He was a month premature
Per talking to another relative of the child that comes to the center. The parents put regular baby lotion on his skin and it does nothing for it. I have asked the parents question about this child and they seem very distant, the only thing I have obtained from them is that he will be on formula until he is two years old.

I’m holding a baby shower for myself and I was wondering what kind of food I should serve. My mom is cooking it and so am I.
Remember, I’m pregnat, so I need to eat good foods…But I crave chocolate and soda…
My husband is a caterer so I’ll give him these ideas.
I really am excited to be having a baby. My husband and I have only been married for a year!
I love your ideas. They sound very delish!

she has over 20 dresses, over 20 shirts and over 20 pants how much should i keep?
the girl has at least 50 or more shirts and pants and the 2 dresser drawers assign to her are overfilled and she doesn’t even wear half of it. Pulls most of them out on the floors and accidently spills soda on them
