My step daughter wants to invite relatives who live across the country to her baby shower. I feel this is just asking for gifts. I think she should send an announcement when the baby is born.

My relatives believe that turning off the aircon will let the infant sweat and the flu gets out faster. But in hospitals, air conditioners are always on.

Why are men not invited to baby showers?

It seems like new dads should be just as involved in all the bottles and bassinets as moms, so why are they excluded from the party? Why does buying stuff for new babies fall on the female friends and relatives of the mom-to-be?

My sister is having her 2nd little boy and we’re throwing a Sunday afternoon shower. The 1st baby, we had a baby shower/dinner because some relatives from out-of-state came in. I’m trying to come up with some finger foods/snacks that would work well for a late lunch shower. Any suggestions would be great!

This is my first plane trip with my triplets who are 15 months old. They are generally good well behaved babies, but I’m worried that they’ll disturb other people on the plane, and I think they will cry when their ears start to pop. What could I do to keep them as quiet as possible on our flights? (We’re going from Detroit to Melbourne Australia to visit my relatives for three months, so its a pretty long trip)

What to get my friend for her baby shower?

I’m trying to figure out what to get her. I’m thinking shes already getting lots of baby clothes from relatives, and other needs for her baby. I was thinking a frame that has a place for each month of the baby’s first year, or a memory book. I’ve never been to a baby shower so yeah I need some suggestions.

Cons want anchor babies deported. But what exactly is an "anchor baby"? What if the anchor baby has legal relatives, just not legal parents? Deporting anchor babies would open up a legal whole can of worms. Be careful what you wish for.

My daughter is 3 weeks old and my husband and I are planning on going to Israel to stay with our families/relatives for the summer. We live in Seattle now. I was wondering is it safe to travel with an infant this early and any tips on traveling this far with her?

I need suggestions on how to cope with having a toddler and a newborn at home. I plan to work at home after the baby is born in July. I’m worried about how I’m going to do it. My relatives just tell me, "Oh you’ll figure out a way." That is of no help. I was thinking of keeping my 3 yr old in daycare but it’s expensive with the cost of gas these days. I really need some suggestions here. Thanks ladies.

Here is my situation: I am 25 weeks pregnant and live aprox 4 hours away from my immediate family (parents, aunts/uncles, ect…) and aprox 3 and 1/2 hours from my husband’s family. My sister in law and brother live 15 minutes away and around x-mas time she aked if she could throw me a baby shower. What made her offer ohhh so appealing is that we wouldn’t have to travel a long distance to have a shower AND wouldn’t have to worry about how to get our new baby gifts back home (4 hours away).
So my question is: Not many relatives from either side of the families are willing to travel in March to my shower and that is fine, but I have about 25 work friends that I want @ the shower. How many is too many work friends becasue I don’t want it to seem we’re being greedy by inviting more people for more gifts when that isn’t the truth at all. I just know when we got married we had 3 bridal showers and we had to travel all over the state to attend them. I just didn’t want to do that again.
The shower is being held @ a resturant so space isn’t the issue, my sis-in-law has a very tiny apt and she suggested having it somewhere other then her home.
