I’ve always been ill at ease when I see young girls wearing "big girl clothes", I’ve had friends who put their kids in dance classes, then cringed my way through recitals where BABIES were taught to "strut their stuff" in front of a crowd.

I didn’t think it was "cute", "precious" or "funny"…but the parents didn’t seem to mind. The day does not pass when several people here don’t worry about how "fast" our young are growing up…and I am wondering HOW people can allow this sort of thing, and not expect it to happen.

Performing aside, I have seen little girls (age seven tops) playing in the park wearing low riding hip huggers to show off their thongs.

Are these parents out of their minds, or am I just hopelessly out of date? I don’t understand "tarting up" our children.

A woman recently published a book called "Stop Dressing Your Six Year Old Like A Skank"…so I am pretty sure I’m not alone.

Thoughts?
Wow…so it isn’t just me.

I have no problem with kids doing dance, and the like…I just have issues with the places that insist on making them, look like pint sized women. They are KIDS.

And as to the mom who reminded us that parents do the buying—right ON!

I have so had it with the dismissive "well what can you do?" parents who shrug, and give in. When our kids were babies, we didn’t let them play with electical outlets because they "wanted to", abd this strikes me as no different.

Thanks for the replies…and I will keep watch on this one!
I was shopping recently with a friend in a high end department store, and saw these bikinis…along with the bootie shorts to match…the sizes? 2-6X.

Enough already…is it really wrong to let a girl be a kid?

It baffles me why parents and loved ones would purchase and allow an item that displays women in a very negitive way. I’m talking about Bratz. These disgusting pieces of plastic have taken over toy boxes, bedrooms and lunch kits. What kind of sane person would allow their childs last image at night to be of a botox injected prostitute? These are the images little girls idolize. Given, some Barbies also now look like skanks but it’s still possible to find Dr. Barbie. Also, can someone tell me why Baby Bratz are wearing something similar to something on a bondage site? Children are easily influenced. These little girls like their scantly dressed dolls and you can find clothes similar in many stores. You let her have her way already so just finish the job and hike that skirt up. This is just another prime example of parents needing to take responsibility. Yes, let kids be kids but there’s also a thing called common sense.

Comments please…
"But I like them." "My friend has one." "It’s a Christmas gift, so it’s okay." There is more then enough crap out there brainwashing people of all ages, why allow it in your home? It may not be my problem at the moment (seeings how I don’t have children.) But what about it 10 years (or less) when these kids start to venture out on their own? Doesn’t that come soceities problem then. I was so pleased when I saw My Little Pony and Strawberry Shortcake make a come back on to store shelves but obviously people just don’t care anymore.

Homework help! Please!?!?!?

Hi everybody!

I have some trouble with my english homework.

What mistakes do you found in the following phrase?

Thaks!!!! (k)

"""Our goal while developing this project is to find unexploited markets, by creating original marketing strategies that will improve the market share of Sporto Company. Our company’s main objective is the maximization of profits through the final consumer’s satisfaction with a product of global excellence.
Besides being a product that takes care of environment, the use of 100% organic cotton made infant apparel can protect the skin of both our children and us. Usually babies and children are more sensitive than adults to synthetic chemicals. Given that fact, choosing clothes made with organic cotton can help to reduce your exposure to harmful chemicals for their skins and bodies. The use of organic cotton clothing for babies, it is highly recommended, since their delicate skin requires extra special care and extra soft tissues that have contact with your skin, especially in those with diseases such as atopic dermatitis."""

By this I don’t mean "the Mall" as I think it’s just foolish to spend "Gap", "Gymboree", "Tommy", "The Children’s Place" etc. on kids when they grow up so fast. Who has good quality kids clothes that are affordable? Old Navy? Target? Shopko? Kmart? Walmart? Kohl’s? JCPenny?
