My daughter is gorgeous and I think she would a good "baby model". I’m not like those parents that will force my child into doing something they don’t want to do, but for now I think it’ll be good.

my daughter is 23 months and this morning i heard her making noise so i went to say good morning and hug her and kiss her like we do every morning and i open the door and there she is, standing at the door, waiting for me. so im putting up the toddler bed and wondering when other parents did the same thing?

My sister is due to give birth in a few months and my brother and I are planning on making up a gift basket for when he is born. Any parents have suggestions what would be useful to put in? We already have baby powder, shampoo, lotion etc, bibs, nappy rash cream, cotton buds and a few clothes at 3-6 months size.

Anyone noticed the extreme difference between the options available for little girls and boys when it comes to clothing?

First of all there is Much less available on the market for little boys then girls. Seems the selection available is at least double for the baby girls in the majority of stores.
Then girls have every single color available to them, little boys pretty much have blue green and a tannish brown. Most of the "gender neutral" colors, are made in a fashion for the girls not boys…there are even "male" colors made with a "girls" theme on them.
Themes are different as well…boys are limited to trains/car, puppies, and sports…Lots and Lots of sports outfits. Girls everything seems available every animal, bug, cars and sports.
but the thing that hits me the most…is much of the young males clothing especially the toddler 1-3 year old years is fashioned as exact miniatures of adult male clothing. Where the toddler girl clothing isnt it’s still very much "baby" clothing and hardly something an adult female would wear.

So…to the parents of boys..Would you like more options available when it comes to dressing your child? Or are you happy with the selections given?

Everyone..Do you think we are training are young males to think and be a certain way from a very early age?
Seems to me we are giving are girls all the options in the world…and still maintain strict gender roles for the baby boys/young boys.

at 6 pm today my 9 month old son is going to a modeling audition for pampers..
what do they have babies do or the parents do at the auditions??

I know of many parents that have to feed their kids plain foods like chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, etc., because their kids refuse to eat anything else. How can you ensure that your toddler learns to eat a wide variety of foods and flavors? Or is it something you cannot control? Advice from experienced parents of ‘good eaters’ would be appreciated:)

I am a beginning knitter. I have done some scarves and decided to knit a baby blanket as a gift for soon to be parents in the family. I have already checked out lionbrand.com and some of the usual pattern websites and can’t find anything that jumps out at me. If you know of any sites that may be of some help I’d appreciate it. Also, which do you think is easier, knitting the blanket on straight needles or circular? Thanks!!!!

My daughter received an invitation to a baby shower. Included was a list of suggested gift items, including for the parents-to-be (spa, dinner certificates) and large items (strollers and a rocker?).
And what really made me gasped was noted on the invitatation "to keep the cost down, please bring a food and drink item-the cake will be provided).
Fortunately my daughter went back to school and can’t go to this shower.
Isn’t this being a bit odd?

are these rules I’ve written into a contract she has to sign unreasonable?
"-I will be polite and courteous to all members of the household at all times while visiting
-Appropriate clothing will be worn at all times, i.e; no bathing suits, no short shorts/skirts or excessively revealing attire.
-there will be no hanging out in bedrooms without permission.
-there will be no leaving the premises to go for a "walk" without adult supervision
-there will be no making out or any other sexual activity inside or outside the house."

If a mom had your childs gf/bf sign something like this would you be mad?
BTW, they are 13/14 and in the 8th grade and about as ignorant as teens are, plus they are having sex and her parents don’t care and I don’t want to be a grandmother before I’m 34.
