My daughter is turning one and I am getting suggestions that I should start weaning her off the pacifier. Right now we only give it to her at nap time and bed time and if she doesn’t get it, she cries. Any success stories would be really appreciated.
My son will 14 months (1 year and 2 months) this April 21 I think it’s time to start weening off his pacifier, but I don’t want to just stop cold turkey. What’s a good and nice way to do this.
My daughter will be one on the 7th and I have been reading some websites that say you should stop at 12 months because that marks the spot of a dramatic speech phase and others saying whenever the baby doesn’t want it anymore and others saying by 2 years old. So, when did you start weaning baby from the pacifier? How did you do it? Was it successful?
Right now she only gets it when she is going to sleep or when she is very fussy, which isn’t that often.
He will be two July 3, and the pacifier seems to really calm him down. How do I break his dependence on the paci?
My 4 month old is sleeping pretty good at night (~8 hours). But for the past 2 weeks she’s been waking up crying at the same time every night. When this happens I just go put her pacifier in her mouth and she goes right back to sleep for the rest of the night. Is there a problem with this? Should I just let her cry until she falls asleep on her own?
Hi everyone,
I’m due August 29th and I’m just trying to get everything together before my little princess arrives
What do you usually carry in your diaper bag? (Sorry to sound like an idiot, but this is my first baby and I don’t really know what to expect).
This is what I’m thinking:
Diapers (duh)
Wipes
1 Clean Outfit
2 Burp Cloths
1 Receiving Blanket
1 Changing Pad
1 Pacifier
I plan on breastfeeding exclusively, so their’s no need for a bottle.
Is there anything else I will need?
Thanks in advance for your answers!
All of you answers are very helpful! Thank you so much!!!
Hi! We’re first-time parents and we’re wondering if it’s alright for our 3 week old baby boy to suck on a pacifier?
My toddler is 20 months old and still uses a pacifier, especially at night. He does not use it very much during the day, but it is a necessity in the car and at night. Lately he has been losing it at night and wakes up crying for it. I am wanting to get rid of his pacifier, but I need something to use in it’s place during the night? Any suggestions? I have tried stuffed animals in the past, but it did not work.
Since there will be 2 1/2 weeks off for Christmas, we will be working on stopping the pacifier. Cody only takes it at night, but I am trying to figure out the easiest way to do it without being cruel. I have heard of snipping the top and that kids just shrug it off then. Is this really a good way to do it? Or do you have any other suggestions?
