How can I break my daughter of her Pacifier?

My daughter is 3 years old and is still using a pacifier. We do however only give it to her when she lays down for a nap and at night when she goes to bed so she don’t have it all day but in the middle of the night if she drops it on the floor she will wake up crying. What are some tips that I can do to get rid of it for good.

My son sucks really hard on his pacifier sometimes like he acts as if he is hungry but its nowhere near his feeding time. He gets really fussy as well. Can anybody help me out and let me know what it could be..? Thank you.

How to get a baby of the pacifier?

I am about to start getting my daughter off the pacifier, any ideas? I have heard and thought about cutting the tip off and tell her its broken but didnt know if there was anything else.
My daughter is only 1 so she doesn’t understand a whole lot.

My baby girl likes to slip with a pacifier, but since she flips her self from side to side it falls out and she starts crying. How do i teach her to put it back?

No matter how tired he is he will cry until he gets his pacifier, and when he losses it he demands it back, is it too late to take it away from him?

I know that you really shouldn’t, but she is constantly wanting to suck at anything, even after very successful feedings. She sucks her hands, clothes, blankets, my husband’s skin on his neck, fingers. I put her back to the breast and seems satisfied with just "playing" with them. She, tonight, is crying so bad and I am about to give her a pacifier. Will this ruin all progress with breastfeeding?

My daughter is a year old and wont let go of her pacifier. She doesnt use it during the day, only at night after she’s done drinking her bottle, but the thing is that she’ll suck on it all through out the night. I try taking it our of her mouth but she’ll look around for it and cry. I even tried to just let her cry it out, but she will not fall asleep without it. What should i do?

I have a 2 yr old who still has a pacifier. She doesn’t have it all the time, but mainly at nap time and bed time. On ocassion she will fall asleep without it, but usually if we are in the car. I have asked the doctor about it and she says it is ok for her to still have it. I have tried having my daughter throw it away, but she just goes back to the trash and digs it out right after, before I can even hide it. She has had many ear infections and had tubes, but they are now out, so I think it is time for her to get rid of the pacifier. I just don’t know how to do it with out going nuts. She all ready goes to bed with a cup of water. I have tried having her go to bed with a bear or doll to take the place of the pacifier. I even tried snipping the end off and she still put it in her mouth, like nothing was wrong. Any other suggestions?

He won’t use a real pacifier and hasn’t since birth. Every now and then he will but it’s rare. How can I change this? He will use me as one before nap time and before bed time. By the way I am nursing him. I have another question, it’s summer and me and my fiancee argue about this but how hot does it have to be in a car before heat stroke is a danger and this is with or without the windows down. What is the danger temp?

My little girl (3 and a half months) is addicted to her pacifyer (soother). She has a really strong sucking reflex, and sucks almost all day on either her fingers, my breast or her pacifier (pacifier only during naps and nighttime). But it is starting to wake her up at night. I feel uncomfortable with going cold turkey – I don’t think I have the heart for the crying. Any ideas on how to slowly and gently get her away from this habit?

Thanks!
Catherine
