how big is/was your baby at 5 months?

I’m actually starting to get worried. my son is now 20lbs. 3 oz. in 12-18 months clothes and has out grown his infant car seat. he will be 5 months old on the 18th. we made an appointment with his doctor to be checked out because when I took him in for shots the nurse told me he was overly big for his age and that she had never seen a 4.5 month old this big before. so far he has grown 1 clothing size a month since birth and now he is eating like he is getting ready to have another growth spert. I’m so broke from buying him a new wardrobe each month. most kids his age are half his size. he is bigger than his 1 year old cousin. it’s crazy. what do you think? is there anything to be worried about? and the thing is he’s not over weight he’s just very very tall.

I have a 12 week old little girl, and I was just wondering when everybody started giving there baby’s a little bit of cereal in the bottle? My mom & aunties said they started around 4 months. My little angel just doesn’t seem satisfied with her formula anymore, She’s just eating so much! Sometimes she drinks a 6oz bottle after 6oz bottle and then 2 more oz. Which is a lot of ounces for a 11 and a half pound baby girl. Any advice? Thank you!

he was 9 weeks premature (13 weeks old today). started out on Neosure for the additional calories to catch him up on his weight but we think he is now lactose intolerant (I was the same way, fine for a couple of months and then WHAM, I couldn’t handle the milk). We go back to the doctor the end of the week to check him out to make sure that the change in formula is agreeing with him – which it appears to be. He’s always been a really cool, calm, and collected baby up until here recently. He started getting more and more cranky and then started spitting up and throwing up during feedings and for about an hour after his feedings, which is why I took him to the doctor…I mean, 2 mornings straight, from 6-9 am, non-stop crying and fussing…that is tough.

He is a lot less fussy now and have only had a few spits ups since we changed his formula (and lots fewer burps), plus he is taking a little bit more of the Sensitive RS than he was the Neosure. The only problem though is getting the extra calories now that he was getting from the Neosure (Neosure is jam-packed to help preemies and low birth weight babies catch up). So how can we up the calories to keep him on the growing a little quicker track that he’s been on.

BTW, was born just shy of 4 lbs and last week when we went to the doctor (had clothes on since it was not a regular appointment) he was 10 lbs 9 oz.

Questions about the Ready-Or-Not-Tot baby doll?

I’m thinking about getting one to get the experience of caring for a baby. I go to an online school so I cant get the experience at school. It says that the program lasts 48 hours and i know this is a stupid question but its not a one time use right? You can restart the program? I hope so cuz its pretty expensive. And if anyone knows…what size baby clothing would I need to buy for it…its 5 lbs. 8 oz., 20 long. Preemie or newborn…? Thanks for any help :) I appreciate it.
i guess i wasn’t clear…after I complete the 48 hours program can I do it again?

Does anybody else have a "compact' baby?

my daughter was 7lbs 15 oz and 19.5 at birth and now she is 2 months old and still in newborn diapers and until recently could wear most preemies except jumpers and most 0-3 month clothes swallow her whole…my mom says its because she is a compact baby like I was… when people see her they always think she is a "brand new baby" or only 5lbs… my friends babies all feel so light when I hold them compared to her even though they are slightly older and weigh more… she is really active and has been since I was 13 weeks pregnant… my husband says its because she is so muscular… she was rolling over and holding her head up on her own from birth and has been hitting other physical milestones quickly… she is at a 4 month level

Here’s how it goes:
Son was on Enfamil Enfacare since he was a preemie.
Major constipation issues, so after some research he was put on Nutramigen which did wonders. We started the Nutramigen at about 5-6 months gradually.
After his 1 year check up, he was still to be on formula a few more months- we switched him the Nestle Good Start. His stools are formed but soft enough.
He is 13 months old tomorrow- and we started introducing whole milk yesterday. I gave him bout 3/4 oz in 2 bottles yesterday.
He liked it, and didn’t seem to have a problem with it.
When I took his clothes off last night for a bath, he had a little rash on his tummy, and then something that looked blotchy on his back along with what looked like a few small "welts" or biites- like spider bites.

That means- the could of just been spider bites- (still wondering where this spider was…..but I know it happens)-
I’m just confused because of the rash on his tummy.
Now there’s cow milk in Enfacare and Nestle Good Start- so I really don’t have a reason to believe he’s allergic to milk.
But becuase there was also the rash on his tummy- which is gone this morning- I start to wonder if it was from milk. And maybe it wasn’t bad because he such a small amount yesterday?
I haven’t given him anymore today- unless I try and figure this out.

He’s not a kid that’s had many rashes- just on his face when he was younger and he has a very mild case of eczema on his arms.

What do you guys think…in terms of the milk?
eryca k-
he doesn’t have a problem with the Good Start. He’s been on it for a month and he’s been fine- it’s the whole milk I’m wondering about.
I’m not against soy or anything- but he doesn’t like the taste right now (nor did he with Nutramigen)- so I dont’ see a need to switch him AGAIN if he’s ok with the Good Start.
BB- we are easing him into cow’s milk, as you can see I mentioned that.

I only gave him a little less than 1 ounce mixed in with his formula yesterday!!!
KBS- I asked a question about milk. Not for your opinion on breastmilk.

FYI: I had delayed postpartum hemorrhaging 10 days after I delivered. I pumped for the 10 days before- but my milk wasn’t coming in because I was internally bleeding still. So while my little guy was in the NICU, I was in the ER laying on a bed bleeding to death. My son is lucky he has a mommy at this point. So before you throw your opinion on someone, ask for the facts. Don’t be such a j*rk.

I have gone to Walmart, Kmart, and searched online for cute clothes. But finding a newborn size in anything seems almost impossible. Also what size clothes should a newborn wear? My first weighed 7 lbs 6 oz and 0-3 was way too big on her. So this time around I am thinking about purchasing a preemie outfit for my second daughter, since the newborn outfits look way too big as well.
So basically where is the best place to buy a cute outfit for your newborn.
This will be a one time outfit for her hospital pictures. I just wish someone would have told me the some newborn clothes could be too big and that 0-3 would swallow them. why doesn’t anyone inform us of stuff like that.

My daughter will be 8 months in a few days. Someone told me I could start giving her the baby juices from Gerber. I read up about it and saw that they should only get 4 oz a day, but whats your experience?
