Where can I find classic baby clothes?

I just found out I’m having a boy. I’ve put off shopping until I knew the sex but now that I know I can’t seem to find any "normal" baby clothes! Places like Baby Gap have black onesies and really adult-like baby clothes which is okay when he’s older but while he’s a newborn I would like to find just some cute pastel, or striped, clean looking classic clothes. I don’t really care for all the Carters style with ducks and frogs either. Any suggestions? Online or stores?
Ducks and frogs are "normal" for some, but I find them tacky

blankets, receiving blankets, and hooded towels. I have 2 kids, but they’re almost 7 & 9 so I haven’t bought baby items for quite some time!

I just found out that I’m having a boy and want to start getting some items. I have bought some sleepers and onesies and t-shirts and sweat-pants. I don’t know how much to get though of each item, for various sizes like newborn, 0-3 months, etc.

Also, I want to start getting blankets and towels. How many of each would you suggest? And if there are other items that you can suggest stocking up on (besides diapers and wipes!) I would appreciate it!

Thanks!

How much of everything do I need?

First time clueless pregnant woman here. 31 weeks along. I had a wonderful baby shower last week, and in a couple of weeks my partner’s side of the family is throwing me another one. I am trying to update my registry, but I don’t know how much of everything I need. So far I have:

10 onesies in each size (0-3, 3-6, 6-9)
2 sleepers in each size
Misc. cutsie clothes
6 burp clothes
4 thick blankets (knitted, fleece, etc.)
0 receiving blankets (how many of those do I need?)
5 pairs of socks in each size
2 hooded towels
2 regular towels
bath tub
bumbo seat
2 sets of sheets

How much more of each of those things, and what else should I register for?

Can I turn my baby shower into a regular party?

Would that be strange? I am not the type of woman to coo over bibs and onesies with bows on my head :-P But I would like to have a party. Not so much to get gifts, but to welcome our child. I want to be up mingling with people and celebrating the birth of our son, and our daughter (even though she’s older). I wouldn’t mind for it to be both men and women.

Is that too far out of pocket?

I’m in the process of making a Star Wars themed diaper cake for my husband’s friend who, with his wife, is expecting a baby boy.

I’m not sure of the exact due date-
however the shower is in late August and I believe she is due in early October

Inside of the diaper cake I want to hide three fun onesies (along with some other surprises)
however, I’m not sure what sizes to get?
or if I should get long sleeved or short sleeved?

This is the mother’s second child, and her first child was on the larger side.
the onesies come in the following sizes:
Newborn (up to 13 lb)
Small (14-18 lb)
Medium (19-26 lb)
Large (27-34 lb)
*I know when I had my baby shower, I got an overwhelming amount of newborn and 0-3 month clothes, but nothing larger than 0-3 months.
I was thinking maybe I should buy one small and two medium, or two medium and one small- just looking for other mom’s opinions on which size(s) to buy?

Also, we live in Colorado, near the mountains.
The weather here is very unpredictable (yesterday it was 42-degrees, today it is 83). October should be the start of winter, though there may still be some hot "summer" days in the dead of December.
So should I get short-sleeved or long sleeved? Or two of one and one of the other?

I’d appreciate other mom’s opinions
and also, if you want to, I’d aprecciate any tips on things you found to be helpful shower gifts? I’m still looking for other things to give along with (or inside) the diaper cake.
Thank you!
[This is the 5th diaper cake I've ever made,
they've always been very well-recieved as gifts
so I figure, if it aint broke, don't fix it, lol]

This was also posted in "Newborn & Baby" but I thought I’d try a different group to see if I get different answers…

I would like to dye burp cloths and onesies for a baby shower gift. I am assuming RIT dye would not be a good choice to use as they could be too harsh for a baby. Any thoughts on how to go about this?? I have never made natural dyes from plants and teas, but would be interested if anyone knows about this. Thank you.

Prices for baby clothes?

I have been trying to sell my sons baby clothes to get him some big boy things.

I have a guy from a consignment store coming to look at them on Monday. He may be buying them outright instead of making me put them on consignment.

Here is what I have:

NB-18 months clothes. Over 200 pieces. Sweaters, hoodies, shorts, jeans, sweat pants, swimming trunks, t-shirts, onsies, creapers, rompers, and sleepers.
Baby blankets
sheets and crib skirts
baby shoes
hats
bibs
bottle drying rack
baby food holder
Fisher Price Deluxe Jumperoo (needs cleaning)
exersaucer (missing one toy but still works great)
baby bath tub
walker
vetch move and crawl ball
soother (attaches to crib, lights up and plays soothing music/ sounds)
little musical keyboard type things (adjusts to sitting or standing height, has stars and keys that light up, plays music)

What would be decent prices for everything?
I was given everything, but my son is a toddler now and dont really have anything for a toddler. I’m trying to sell everything baby to get him some Big Boy items.

I was thinking about prices for the clothes. I dont know if I should charge the same price for onesies as pants and so on. I’m needing atleast .

I tried selling everything on Craigs List, it was on there for 2 weeks and no luck. I said I would sell it all for 0 or would sell things individually and to let me know what they wanted. No luck.

For those who dont know, the baby food holder is a 3 tier rack that has a small open area on top to hold baby feeding utensils and holds 32 jars of baby food with adjustable height positions. Brand new from K-Mart
