I need advice about washing baby clothes…?

I am a new mom and my washing machine broke in the middle of washing my newborns clothes, it already had the deft detergent on the clothes and I had to finish washing them by hand. Now my question is, I rinsed them as much as I could but I feel like I could never rinse all the detergent out like a machine… So if there is some detergent left in the clothes will this irritate the baby’s skin? I really dont want to take my baby’s clothes to a laundry mat, will this be alright?

I am very upset in how there is an overwhelming amount of clothing options for girls in department stores. I like my son to wear a sophisicated, classy, sporty urban look. The only clothes that come close to these looks are at babygap and children’s place in pittsburgh, pa. but unfortunately they charge an arm and a leg for baby clothes which only has but so much fabric to it! do yal feel theres a market out there for an all boys clothing store?
Is there a market for inexpensive all male cothing store geared for newborns to toddlers?

What size baby clothes should i get?

I was 9 pounds and 3 ounce baby and my take home outfit was 0-3 months.Should i go ahead and get my baby 0-3 months clothes and skip the newborns.and if she is big as i was she will fit in them and if she is a little bit smaller she will have squirm room andgroom in to them.
a lot of babies i know are 7 pounds and they are the first baby.
and this would be my first baby and the y are usually 7 pounds.so if she turned out to be 7 pounds should i still let her wear the 0-3 monthes size

Do you suggest using baby wipes on newborns?

Some things i’ve read suggest using extra-sensitive wipes meant for newborns, and some say even those are too harsh and you should use cotton for the first few days. What’s your expierence with this?

What brand of newborn sensitive washing powder is the best to wash newborns clothes, bedding and blankets before they wear and use them?
and what week did you wash everything?

I am 28 weeks pregnant with baby number 1
I know that i have to wash everything first in the sensitive washing powder but what to know which you think is best and what to wash?

Should i wash absolutely everything first like all clothes, sheets and blankets burping cloths, bathing face washers or should i just do the clothes and bedding???

My son is 7 weeks old. Since he was 3 weeks he’s had a rash. I hadn’t given it a second thought, I assumed it was the normal rash all newborns get or a heat rash since it’s been hot here.

But the rash is now starting to spread. It started on his face. It’s now on his face, over his scalp, on the front and back of his neck, his shoulders, and his arms. It’s now starting to go down his chest, too. He has dry, crusty patches on his ears that split open and weep. His skin (cheeks, forehead, scalp) are really dry, too. I’m beginning to think it’s more than just the typical newborn rash.

It’s Sunday so I can’t phone to make a doctor’s appointment until tomorrow, and even then since it’s not an emergency I wouldn’t expect to get in until the end of the week at the earliest. meanwhile, is there something I can use when I bath him or a nice cream I could slather on him to help soften his skin, etc? Something I could get in a store today? I also live in Canada if that helps with suggesting brands. Thanks!

(on a side note, I am exclusively breastfeeding and other friends who have breastfed are suggesting that he has a sensitivity to the milk products I am consuming. are there any other symptoms I should be aware of other than the skin issues if that is true?)
(It’s not cradle cap) :-)
It can’t be cradle cap. Actually, what’s on his scalp is very minimal, there is no flaking or anything on his scalp. when i say his cheeks, scalp, and forehead are dry I mean it just feels like he has dry skin, with the bumps (what I think is a rash). The bumps turn red when he’s warm, but otherwise the "rash" just looks like little raised bumps that feel dry when you touch them.. His scalp isn’t flaking or greasy looking like with cradle cap. Really, the only spot that is cracked, scaling, and weeping are the soft parts of his ear lobes. I know it’s hard for me to describe but my daughter had cradle cap, pretty obscurely, too. There is no way that this can be even obscure cradle cap. Thanks for reading my description. Anyway, just looking for something to help with it temporarily. :-) I didn’t really mean for a diagnosis.
Aveeno is available in Canada. Very common here. :-)

My friend is having her baby any day now and I want to buy her some baby wipes. So is there a good brand for newborns that wont give me rashes or make them break out?

Our other kids were born in the winter. I planned on a long sleeve typical baby outfit with feet that buttons up and no blanket. My husband says short sleeve, no legged onesie with light blanket. I don’t believe in taking newborns outside with bare skin like that. My mom says the more clothes the better because he is a newborn baby. I have no freaking idea. I don’t want him sweating but I also don’t want too much exposure. Any ideas?

I went out baby shopping yesterday and bought some footed bodysuits along with some regular onesies and then I realized I didn’t buy any sleepers. I am on a strict budget and since newborns grow quickly anyway I was thinking I didn’t really need them. Will the bodysuits work okay?
