we are finding out the sex tomorrow [that is if the baby lets us, lol] and i was just wondering…when bringing your baby home, did they fit in newborn clothes or did they need preemie sizes for the first week or so? my sisters both have kids and said preemie clothes will fit most babies for a few days. was this true with yours? should we buy a preemie and newborn outfit and take both when i deliver to see what works? im asking this cause the one thing we are buying tomorrow is the coming home outfit.

I am 36 weeks and measuring small. She is about 2 weeks behind in size according to the ultrasound. (She weighs about 5 lbs 2 oz but should weigh 6). I have like 4 newborns outfits. All of the onsies and other clothes are 0-3 months. Will the 0-3 months be waaay too big or should I get more newborn clothes? Or should I not rely on the ultrasound/doctor?

So I’m very confused about baby clothes, my son still has 0-3 month clothes that are huge on him, and he has some 3-6 month clothes that wont even go over his head… I have about 4 big boxes full of 3-6 month clothes but I really dont want to get them all out right now, because he still wears some 0-3 month clothes, So my question is how did your organize your childs clothes when they went through this awkward stage of not really fitting into anything? I feel like he wears the same outfits over and over, so I need to get some more out, should I just get rid of all the newborn clothes and bring out the 3-6 and just let some be too big for a while? (P.S. this child has more clothes then he knows what to do with, so I feel like I’m drowning in them, so putting the 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes all together is IMPOSSIBLE) How did you handle this *inbetween*stage?

im 31w6d pregnant with a baby boy.
i already have booties ready for him but is that all newborns should wear is booties?
i know they grow out of their newborn clothes quick and i dont wanna just buy a regular pair of shoes that hes gonna quickly grow out of.
do their feet grow quick too?
wens the right time to buy a pair of shoes that he wont grow out of for awhile..?
and whats the smallest size they sell tennis shoes in for babys?

ok my son will be 6 months on the 14th, he has been reaching his milestones one after another after another.. he has one tooth through the gum and two i can see coming, he can roll over both ways immediatly after laying him down, he pulls his feet up to his mouth, shakes toys and picks them up, removes pacifier and tries (sooo cute!) to replace it.. he can sit if i hold his hips, bbut is wobbly and falls forward if i let them go. now to his size.. he still fits into some newborn clothes and wears all 0-3 month clothes all brands.. he was 5 weeks early weighing 6 7.7 and 19.5 inches long, he has grown roughly ( its darn hard to try to measure an awake baby at home lol) 25.5 in and roughly weighs 12.5-13 lbs. his head still measures the same as at his last appt at 3 months where they put him on nutramigen because he wasnt gaining weight on enfamil and breastmilk. . i feel like he is still sooooo small compared to other children.. i just need comfort, he has an apointment coming up but im so nervous that he is growth wise soooo far behind. ( my great grandmother was at her tallest 4 foot 10 )
thank you for all the answers! it sounds terrible but please dont judge me, i never met his biological fathers family, but from what i was told they are all kinda short, but fat.. he left us when i found out i was pregnant and the army has a great way of hiding people.. My mothers side (great grandma, my grandpa , my mom and one aunt, and myself are all around 5’5 and average+ a bit o’ love lbs.. ) are all shorter, my moms mother, My father and his entire family are in the high 5 feet to 6’5 range. . so seeing Gabe in my father and brothers arms it really takes me back a few steps.. he seemed huge to be a premie, and he was, but its like he hasnt grown much since then.. i love him even if he stays the size he is now.. my little man. <3

My husband really wants to be surprised. I would rather find out, but I wouldn’t be able to keep it a secret from him The problem I have is that I was walking through the baby section today and realized there are NO gender-neutral baby clothes anymore! At first I thought we’d have to get everything in green, yellow and red, but colors aren’t the problem – everything has either ruffles or a truck on it. So I’m worried if we really don’t find out until the birth that we’ll have to buy both boy and girl newborn clothes (even the onesies were definitely one or the other unless they were plain white!) and have to put off buying anything else until the baby is born. How did you handle it?
Plus I really don’t want to have to do a lot of shopping with a newborn, and my husband cannot be trusted to pick out even his OWN clothes, lol.
I’m not having a shower since we live 2300 miles away from everyone we know right now. I think if we get anything from friends and family it will be in the form of a gift card.

Has anyone used Ivory Snow? Is it worth it to use on newborn clothes? I have already washed all my baby’s clothes waiting for her arrival, and my mother-in-law is so set on re-washing them in Ivory Snow, "just to get the ‘baby’ smell". My washer is a front loader, and you can’t get Ivory Snow in HE detergent, so she’s going to do it at her house in her washer. Thing is, is it really necessary? Seems like a waste of time and money to me…

I want to buy my babies some clothes from BabiesRUs, are Miniwear, Carter’s, Gerber & Koala Baby good brands? My twins are small in weight, but long babies. I heard that Gerber tends to run abit short, & that Carter’s has good length. What about Miniwear & Koala Baby clothes that are the BabiesRUs Brand? I have newborn clothes from Carter’s that I bought at the NEX, but not much more than that. I wanted to get some things for the girls to wear when thier daddy gets back from Iraq in June.They will both be 3 months at that time, & I was going to get a few cute summer outfits to choose from in order to greet thier daddy at the pier. I want things that hold up well though, not too much shrinking, are long enough & true to size.All the Carter’s newborn stuff has been great, but I saw that BabiesRUs Miniwear is cute too, they have little sundress outfits that run about each set. Has shoes, little pants, ect.Really cute.Anybody’s opinions & expierance on this brands is appreciated
