for some reason i’m at a complete loss this pregnancy. everything is different with this pregnancy than it was with my first. i am definitely not prepared for anything, i don’t even feel like i have the motivation to get prepared!!! i have lots of clothes (onesies, sleepers, etc) left over from my first son that are in excellent shape, and we have bought a few clothes– but i don’t even feel like buying many clothes because i feel like with the clothes we have the new baby will have plenty to wear. we went and bought a package of pampers, but i didn’t want to buy many because the dr thought this might be a right large baby, and i don’t want to spend my time returning/exchanging diapers. we have a few packages of wipes, receiving blankets, spit up rags, etc. we did buy one package (3) avent bottles 4oz (i know we need more bottles) and bottle brushes.

i decided not to have a baby shower this time, because i’m not close with any of my friends any more and i feel bad having a party just to get gifts (yes i’m very weird). i also had many things left over from my first son that we could use (clothes, baby bed, crib bedding, etc).

so what else should i get before the baby gets here (outside of more bottles)?

Ok, I had my 7lb 8oz , 20 inch long baby girl. She is exactly what statistics say the average baby weighs in the US, yet baby gap, gymboree, kohls, and even Potterybarn kids baby wear swamp her in the newborn size. I am so disappointed. A beautiful new baby and nothing to dress her up in. Do I now have to go out and buy preemie size clothes? Is there some size I missed that is smaller than newborn?

Ok, i am five months pregnant (yay) but i also have four other kids. Kyle is 13 years old and is just killing me. He is always asking me to drive him places and hes always being so mean and teenagerish (LOL)
Blake is 11 years old and always has friends over and keeping me up all night at her sleepovers and always begging me for new clothes and stuff.
Fallon is 9 years old, shes a little sweetie pie. I really cant complain much about her except for the fact that shes attached to my hip.
And lastly, my son Andrew is 6 years old. Hes also a sweetie but when things dont go his way hes a wild kid.
See i love all my kids and i want them to be happy but i need help explaining to them that im a little busy with the new baby on the way and i have to relax, but i dont want to ignore them.

LOL believe me, i dont tend to Kyle like hes a king. But if i dont do what he needs he begs and begs and nags until i have to!

My friend’s sister is 21 and pregnant with baby #2. Her first daughter will turn 2 a few months after the second daughter is born.

She asked if she was getting another baby shower and said she has already registered for baby #2.

My friend is upset because her sister registered for another swing, playpen and other items that she got with the first baby. The sister said she gave it all away even though they planned to have another baby and she also wants the new baby to have all new things like her sister did.

I know they don’t have a lot of money, but don’t you think this is unacceptable?

Showers for second babies close in age that include a registry for clothes, diapers and bottles are okay to me, but not like my friend’s sister is doing. I just feel you don’t have child and expect others to pay for things the baby needs especially when you should have all those items that are not even two years old yet.

Are baby showers for two children close in age okay?

I have a ton of gently used and some new baby items. The clothes are all boy, some may be gender neutral. I’m in North Texas. I was hoping to find an orphanage or some similar place that will accept these items. I want to make sure that they are given to someone who really needs them.

i know there is no way to tell, but i was just wondering what everyone thinks my new baby girl will weigh when she is born…

my first daughter i gained 60lbs (for health reasons) and she was still only 7lbs 7oz

this one i have only gained 31lbs and i am having a c-section on tuesday!

i am WAAYY smaller this pregnancy also, with my first i was out of my clothes by 3-4months. with this one i just recently stopped being able to fit in my jeans because of the wonderful hip expansion.

what do you guys think?
or you could just say what you gained and how much your baby weighed.

My aunt is CONVINCED that i have no clothes that will fit my soon-to-be daughter. She claims that my cousin (who was about 7lbs at birth) would fit nothing but "preemie" clothes for months. When i told her that all the (millions) of clothes i have for her are 0-3 and 3-6 months, she basically freaked out. Now today, she just brought over 5 outfits in "preemie" size. I appreciate her concern, but would an average size baby (say 7-8 lbs at birth) really fit into such tiny clothes? The tags say "up to 5lbs or 18 inches."
it was so sweet of her to buy the new clothes, and they are SOO cute, but i will feel awful when/if they don’t fit….

what is your experience on new baby sizes??

It is a vey old wooden crib that has been restored and we would like to use it for our new baby. The crib is orginally from the late 1800′s and a regualr crib mattress wont quite fit.

Just wondering. We have a new baby coming here soon and we want to get our two year old used to sleeping in a bed (probably a toddler bed at first) before the baby gets here. Is 2 too young to be out of a crib? Any tips for making the transition easier for her? Thanks in advance!
