How can I break my daughter of her Pacifier?

My daughter is 3 years old and is still using a pacifier. We do however only give it to her when she lays down for a nap and at night when she goes to bed so she don’t have it all day but in the middle of the night if she drops it on the floor she will wake up crying. What are some tips that I can do to get rid of it for good.

He still wears diapers to bed and to take a nap. His diaper wakes up very full every morning.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I remember when we tried the already made formula they really stained they’re cloths. I would like to prevent this happening now that they are going to start eating regural foods!!! Thanks inadvance and no hateful comments!
I let them eat with out anything but a diaper on but she burped like an hour and a half after. thats why she wasn’t wearing a bib and plus she just got up from a nap.

Skin rash on my baby, what do I do now?

I know this isn’t where you ask medical question…so let me make that clear.

My almost year old developed small red bumps along his hair line, under his eyes, behind the ears, on chest, and around the diaper area yesterday morning. No fever.

I’ve been trying to eliminate all possibilities:

Food alergy – I introduced a small amount of cow milk the day before the rash popped up, so yesterday I did not offer it again.

Allergy – For the first time I bought scented wipes, so I stopped using them (although I don’t wipe them across his face, so I don’t know if that’s the cause.)

Allergies – The pollen has been incredibly bad here, the streets/cars are covered in a yellow dust, so we are staying indoors today.

Heat rash – I walk with him every morning and it has been warmer than normal, but I dress him appropriately and keep him shaded the majority of the walk. I’m keeping the house cool and dressing him in a very loose onsie.

The rash is not improving though and is more apparent when he wakes up from bedtime or a nap. I called the nurse line and since there is no fever, they won’t set an appointment until next week.

What am I supposed to do now? Do you have any clue which of the possibilities above it sounds like? Besides what I’ve done, what else can I do? It doesn’t seem as though it bothers him much, but it is a bit scary to see those bumps everywhere.

I’m not getting her a toddler bed just yet cuz she’s only 15 months old, but I was thinking about it today because when we were at the store today she saw a toddler bed and wouldn’t stay off of it! She goes down great at nap and bedtime, I just lay her down with her paci and she goes to sleep (she may fuss for a few minutes). Do you think she’ll transition well?

How did you get your toddler used to his/her bed?

I already tried to put him in for his nap but he just would not sleep . I tried to put him to sleep then put him in and that did not work ! So how do you do this ????

What is 'Baby Proofed' to you?

I see so many Moms on here stating that it’s okay for them to fall asleep on the couch while their children play because their homes are baby/child proofed, but what does that really mean you to? Surely there is STILL a way for your child to get into something that he / she shouldn’t be getting into.. or falling off of something (couch, chair, table..) that he / she shouldn’t be climbing on but most likely will. Im just curious. No bashing. I am actually in the process of needing to Baby proof. My girl is now crawling and discovering that she can get to things that she normally couldn’t (the cabinet with all of our dvds is the most recent..lol)!
Squill ; I actually was not talking about you.. I ran over your question AFTER I posted this though.. Im sorry! (:
They also say they let their children play outside alone because it’s Baby Proofed. I just want to know what ‘Baby Proofed’ means to them! (:
Rebecca ; I agree. I nap when Aubree does (on the weekends, I work full-time during the week).. (: She is never left alone unsupervised. She’s only 11 months though…

How to wean my baby from the pacifier?

I have an 11 Month baby, and I have tried everything to wean her from the pacifier (which she only uses to for her nap or sleep at night). The problem is that I sometimes leave her with my mom or mother-in-low, and they give it back to her because she wouldn’t go to sleep without it!
Any ideas?
