I see so many Moms on here stating that it’s okay for them to fall asleep on the couch while their children play because their homes are baby/child proofed, but what does that really mean you to? Surely there is STILL a way for your child to get into something that he / she shouldn’t be getting into.. or falling off of something (couch, chair, table..) that he / she shouldn’t be climbing on but most likely will. Im just curious. No bashing. I am actually in the process of needing to Baby proof. My girl is now crawling and discovering that she can get to things that she normally couldn’t (the cabinet with all of our dvds is the most recent..lol)!
Squill ; I actually was not talking about you.. I ran over your question AFTER I posted this though.. Im sorry! (:
They also say they let their children play outside alone because it’s Baby Proofed. I just want to know what ‘Baby Proofed’ means to them! (:
Rebecca ; I agree. I nap when Aubree does (on the weekends, I work full-time during the week).. (: She is never left alone unsupervised. She’s only 11 months though…

My son, Andrew is almost 2, he is 32lbs, and about 37in tall. According to growth charts he is in the 90-100th percentile for his age(has been all his life). He is in clothing ment for 3-4 year olds. He was 9lbs at birth and 22in long. I am only 5’1" (thin build) his dad is 6’1" (average build)
Andrew can run great, climb stairs by himself, and if you hold a metal bar in front of you he can grab it and support all his weight and hang there for 10 or more seconds.
The other day he was carrying a full milk jug in each hand.
Is this growth/muscle strength average? Looking for either knowledge or other moms who’s toddlers are just as big and strong as mine….

I really want to go to school finally and get an associates degree in a multimedia program at itt-tech, but I am worried about how I could do it, I am a single mom of a 2 year old, so obviously I have to work, but if I was to work part time is there financial aid that I could also use for rent, utility payments and other things I would have to pay for while attending school? would I be able to do it between student loans and grants? I would love to hear from any single moms that have done this too, thanks to anyone in advance with advice and answers!
so I could even not work at all while in school and get by on financial aid I would recieve? that would be great, considering I could finish school sooner by going full time, plus I would still have plenty of time with my daughter:)

I have a 6 month old that I have been co-sleeping with, and for the past two nights I have been putting him in his baby bed on the side of our bed. I’m constantly checking on him to make sure he’s ok, is any other moms going through this and how can I ease my fears of something happening to him?

I am a single dad with full custody of my girls. I’ve been trying to find a support group for single dads but all I find is support groups for single moms. Do dads don’t need support? Can someone point me to a website that have lists of actual support groups, not on-line support? Know what I mean?

I have an adorable 9 mo old daughter (I know – all moms says that ).
However, after numerous strangers and relatives asked me if she is
modeling, the idea stuck in my head. she is, indeed, photogenic, has
beautiful teeth, hair, eyes and a smile and I decide to give it a try.
My question is ?How and where do I start??. The only thing I have
tried, so far, was to have gone to ?kids.com? – baby talent management
company. They have asked for 5 upfront and this turned me off.
Later, I googled them and realized they were scammers. Do I need a
management company (and which ones to avoid) or can I approach
modeling agencies directly? If so ? which ones and how? Please
provide a thorough answer as I am new to the field and don?t have any
connections. Perhaps, this is a bad idea and it is impossible to
break into the field without connections? P.s. My goal is not to make
mega bucks but to see my child?s face printed in some baby magazine
(mom?s vanity – - guilty as charged) and, perhaps, earn small change
to help along while I am between careers.
i live in houston tx
also she is very friendly

I am going to be a first-time mom in May and would like to get opinions from moms who have already been there. I know each baby is different and something that worked for your baby may not work for mine, but I would like to hear your opinions:
What is your favorite bottle and why?

Also did you know that kids with a DAD and mom parents usually don’t get into trouble as much compare to single moms?
I did my research and found this to be true. So aren’t DAD’s more important than moms ? If not why not ?

like when the baby is just awake, do you just hold them? i feel like there isnt much interacting you can do with a two week old. when do they start interacting and playing with you?
also…..when do single moms of newborns take showers if you cant have someone come over everyday to watch the baby for a half hour?

I’ve been to several baby showers for moms to be that are married and they all seem to have included the husbands in the shower some kind of way – even down to the games. Is there anything one should do different for a woman who is not with the father of her child?
