My sister is having a baby and she keeps telling my mom she doesn’t want to have a baby shower. I think she’s embarrassed because my family goes to church and she has only been dating her boyfriend for like a month…anyways, how can we convince her to have one? She could use all the baby stuff.

Well as a bunch of you know my little man was born premature, well last week his up to 7 pound clothes fit and as of this week his 0-3 months FIT. I was so excited until I started showing my mom and telling her how amazing it was and she just said, yay he’s just out grown the clothes you just bought…
Shouldn’t it be exciting that he doesn’t have to wear preemie clothes anymore? I would think that she would be happier that he’s getting bigger, why doesn’t she seem happy?

My newborn boston pup (4 days old) still needs my help getting him to mom’s nipple. I didn’t think he was going to make it, but with everyone’s help on this website, he is still holding on. He is doing much better. He does still feel cold sometimes and when he does, I have him with me using a heating pad to warm him up. This seems to help tremendously. He doesn’t move around like the other 2. He is thinner and smaller. When I pick him up he is very limp. He doesn’t seem to be able to hold up his head quite well yet. When I warm him up, I give him back to mom and I have to express her milk a little bit until he finally latches on. I almost have to hold him upside down before he does this. He acts as if he doesn’t know how to nurse. Rather than his tongue being down, he has it up so this makes it very difficult for him to latch on. It takes me approx. 10 minutes before he finally catches on. When he does, he stays on for quite a while. Can someone give me some advise?
I have already informed the vet and they didn’t seem too concerned. He was stuck in the birth canal for 1 hour before the c-section. As a result, he has a hematoma on his head and I feel that this is why he is not responding very well.

I got pregnant in 2007 and said that if it was a girl I’d name her Lorelai (it has a lot of meaning for me.) Even though it was a long time ago, I remember telling my sister about it. I had a boy but my husband and his mom picked out the name and we agreed that I’ll be the one who gets to pick the name for our next baby. So if it’s a girl it’ll be Lorelai. And every time my husband and I are at the store, when we see cute baby girl clothes we’re always like "Aww…Lorelai!" haha, even though we don’t plan on having another baby for 2-3 years.

My sister is pregnant now and she doesn’t know what she’s having yet, but if it’s a girl she said she wants to name her Lorelai. OMG!!! I told her that’s what *I* was naming my daughter in the future..and she said she doesn’t remember me telling her that. I know that I don’t own the name or anything and that it’s my sister’s choice what she names HER baby…but this SUCKS! I’ve been set on that name since I was like 16 haha, I remember writing it in cursive everywhere.
Am I being a little dramatic since I’m not even pregnant. Or do I have a right to be a little upset?
Let’s just hope she has a boy lol.

I may be babysitting a friend’s baby for 1 year and am trying to figure out what I need aside from diapers, bottles and baby wipes before the baby is born. Also do you have to put ointment on a baby’s circumcision and if so what should I use? I know my mom used AE ointment on my younger brother and sister.

are these rules I’ve written into a contract she has to sign unreasonable?
"-I will be polite and courteous to all members of the household at all times while visiting
-Appropriate clothing will be worn at all times, i.e; no bathing suits, no short shorts/skirts or excessively revealing attire.
-there will be no hanging out in bedrooms without permission.
-there will be no leaving the premises to go for a "walk" without adult supervision
-there will be no making out or any other sexual activity inside or outside the house."

If a mom had your childs gf/bf sign something like this would you be mad?
BTW, they are 13/14 and in the 8th grade and about as ignorant as teens are, plus they are having sex and her parents don’t care and I don’t want to be a grandmother before I’m 34.
