What are the criteria in selecting baby crib bedding? Are there things to pay attention as to whether to get a 5 piece baby crib bedding set or a 6 piece? What is the difference between them? Also, are there materials that are considered better for baby crib bedding such as flame retardant material, cotton, etc. I find that the baby crib bedding I had before seems inadequate with its blanket. During winter, the blanket does not provide enough warmth.

What do you mommies think is the best brand of burp cloths? One that is thick and absorbent and stands up to repeated washings? I am just looking for plain white. Thanks!

What do you guys do to interact and help your newborn learn when they are awake and in the "alert" stage? My son is 10 days old and I like to rub him and talk to him and hold him and sing to him while he is awake, but I was interested to know what else people did.

But problem is my car interior is all black. I have changed the sear covers. I can change the mats also. But what about doors.The dash and the steering wheel. my question is is that possbile to change all that? if yes, the what this kit is called? i want to change almost everything, i just dont like black.
In China, is it still considered bad luck to have a baby shower before the birth?

Or is that just an older tradition? Some of my classmates are having a baby shower for a Chinese doctor/professor at our school. They had one for her first pregnancy a few years ago, too (which turned out fine). I just wonder if the doc is trying to be gracious but is secretly mortified or if modern zhonguoren are ok with the pre-birth showers.

What are some good foods for helping a 15 month old to learn to use a toddler size fork and spoon? They pick up solids and eat. Plus they know to put the spoon in their mouths if we put the food on the spoon. But scooping up food and getting it in their mouths is a problem.
What foods worked for your baby to learn? Just for practice right now, we’re not expecting them to master it anytime soon.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of the teaching profession for single-parents? I can think of a few myself, but I want to hear from people who have actually done this, especially with young children. Teaching seems to be a pretty demanding profession, so how did/do you make the time to be a good single-parent while pursuing a teaching career?

And what kind of cereals are good? My infant is 3 months. My friend said it’s ok by 4 months to give him cereal. Is this true?
