a friend of mine is having issues with her sister in law. they have little girls that are around the same age, 6 and 7 months old.. and her sister in law is constantly competing with her. they are going to a very expensive, important bar mitzvah in december, and so they have to dress their kids to the nines. my friend went out and bought an entire outfit from janie and jack.. and her sister in law went out and asked the people at the store what she got, and got the same outfit. so im wondering, what are some other top [expensive] designers for baby’s clothes, more importantly.. dressy baby clothes.. just to give her some options. i personally dont think its a big deal either way.. but its a big deal to her. i know it sounds completely materialistic, but i guess this bar mitzvah is a big deal. so i’d appreciate some help!

I love love love Janie and Jack and babyGap. Also I find a lot of great deals at Old Navy. I started going there while I was prego with my daughter last year; since I didnt want to spend a small fortune on maternity clothes. And I find great stuff there for her, like Jeans and dresses. But I must say Janie and Jack is by FAR my fav. clothing store for her. Baby Gap close second. Also what style do you like to dress your baby in? Are you into the really baby baby type frilly fro fro stuff for the girls? And all the fire truck and dinasour outfits for boys? Or do you like the ones that look more like real adult clothes just shrunk down? I am deffinalty into the later. Yes, Kamryn has some frilly dresses and girly girl outfits. But I love when she is in Jeans and a really cute modern tank top/t-shirt. I cant wait for fall for her to fit into her hard bottom Boo Uggs!! And her wide leg jeans!!! What about you?
Yeah when she was younger like under 6 months, I think most of her clothes was carters. I liked her to be in loose outfits and onsies with the little sweat pants and they are great for that. Since she was so small and snuggly I didnt want her in restrictive jeans or tank tops ect. But now that she moves all over and can get around no prob. I love the "big girl" clothes from Gap and some Old Navy. ANd when I want something cutsie I go to Janie and Jack
Ahh I LOVE pierced ears on babies, we did Kamryns at 2 1/2 months! SHe also has LOADS of hair, I think its like 8" long now, so she always has pony tails and pig tails. Its almost long enough to braid!!! And Binikis are my FAV!!! We live on the beach literally, so we are there from sunrise to sunset. I cant imagine her without her tenie binkini!!! I even got her an "itsy bitsy teeny weenie yellow polka dot" one; from old navy!!!

I want to order my daughter some cute spring outfits from babygap before the ones I want go out o size/color. I have some see kai run shoes and lots o baby gap clothing from last spring that i could part with. We are currently about 2 months off from out wedding and my fiance refuses to give me any money for spring clothing until after the wedding. I will need about at least 0 for the things that I want. Hopefully I could make a bit more so I could order some things from Janie and Jack as well. I’ve never bought/sold anything on ebay before so since I know you pay to list things I wanted to see if I could get an idea of how likely I might be at selling these things. All of her clothing is in wonderful shape, the shoes are also in pretty good shape, not excelent buy good. Also do you think I would be better off listing each piece individually or should I group all of the items? Any tips would be very much appreciated.

I know it’s awful but does anyone else besides me get just the tiniest feeling of glee when one of those outrageously expensive and super trendy baby products gets recalled for safety reasons? I live in CT and there’s a shopping area not far from me where all the snobby SAHMs stroll along with their 700-1200 dollar strollers, babies all dolled up in Janie and Jack or whatever All-organic trendy boutique outfit they found, etc. They sit at Starbucks and chat about how they have already filled out applications for thier 3 month olds to attend the best pre-schools around, blah-blah-blah…

Don’t get me wrong, I think a lot of expensive baby things are very nice. I would certainly buy all organic clothing and specail cloth diapers (but not at a pop) if I could afford them… but it’s the way they carry the babies around like a fashion accessory and look down on someone who can’t afford to spend on an all organic outfit for their child to outgrow in a month!

I believe in doing what I can for the environment and my priority is keeping my 8 month old daughter happy and healthy. I make her foods at home from scratch and use organic whole grains and fruits and veggies but I do it for her health, not to tell my snobby friends I am doing it. (Besides it ends up saving me money in the long run, LOL.

So… anyway, back to my point… every once in a while it’s just so satisfying to see one of their super trendy strollers or something like that get a big recall. Anyone else feel this way? And no, it’s not a jeallousey thing. I was raised to spend wisely and to appreciate what I have. I’m not poor but I am a single mother and I watch my money.

I’m opening up an ebay store selling new and EUC baby clothing, specializing in gymboree, babygap, and janie and jill (nice brands).

Any creative names, mommys?

(it’ll be mostly 12 months to 4t)
Whoops, meant Janie and Jack.

It’s been a long day!

And no, I don’t get it from consignment stores.

I get it on clearance during promotions, and use gymbucks.
