Would an infant room for children at a hotel be a good idea? The room would be a public area and have a rocker, toys, changing table, etc. What else should be offered?
I have been a teacher in an infant room for 3 years. My biggest problem is not being able to be organized. How can I make a dramatic change?
Obviously, this applies to your first child.
I’ve had experience working with small children for years, but never "newborns." I work in the infant room at my church daycare every other sunday for 2 hours, but most parents don’t feel comfortable leaving their little-little ones, and most children are at least 5 months.
On the occasion that we get some 3 month olds, they sleep the whole time.
I’m afraid I’m going to feel very awkward holding my baby, bathing my baby, nursing my baby. Just because it’s stuff that I’ve never done before.
How long did it take you to get comfortable with the baby?
And how long did it take for daddy to get comfortable with the baby?
I work in the office at a preschool. One of our staff members is due with her first baby in February 2011. She has said ‘I hope you girls are ready for clothe diapers and glass bottles’. I know we’re not allowed to have anything stored in glass containers, but this really isn’t what I’m concerned with. Clothe diapers aren’t sanitary. Her baby will be in the infant room with clothe diapers, leaking feces and urine out in anything we put the baby in, which the other babies use as well. Now, it’s not medically necessary because of an allergy or anything like that. It’s just her preference. I’ve looked into it with the health department, but I haven’t found out anything yet. I don’t want to mention anything if we have to accommodate it, but I can’t see how if it’s not medically necessary. Also, as far as the glass bottle go.We’re not supposed to have anything in glass in our center as per state rules. So what do we do in that aspect?
I have always been in a toddler or preschool room and I have no idea how to decorate my Infant room. Any suggestions?
I am an intern in a infant room in a dayvare and need to come up with 4 lesson plans. I came up with using whip cream as the first one. They be in their heightchairs and spread it around on their trays. Its edible so I wouldnt have to worry about them eating it. I was thinking of putting food coloring in it to brighten it up. I need thoughts on that idea would it stain clothes if it was already mixed in??? Also what is the goal of this activity? Like Promoting fine motor skills? What are you thoughts on this any input is appreciated!
I am interested in working and taking care of infants. I worked in the front office of an elementary school and now i work at Carter’s a baby clothing store. what i really want is to be able to play and take care of babies. I seem to find my only options are working at a daycare(and being specific about being in the infant room) or being nanny. the only problem about being a nanny is i can’t just ask every woman with a baby "can i baby sit your child?"
I was hoping someone had more ideas about careers that involve infant care.
This might be dumb to comment but there should be like a nanny-temp-agency. or something. thanks for any help you can give.
