OK, my mother wants to drive three hours in a car across the state to this ugly beach town that is, well, one of those city’s retired people go to. Besides a beach there is…nothing else to do. Except visit overpriced boutiques where the only children’s clothes they sell make you want to pinch your childs cheeks. By the way their is only one childrens boutique. Shudder. Besides the town, which is by the way SANIBEL FLORIDA YUCKYUCK, riding for three hours in a car with my grandma & mom, is like, freaking torture. They never talk to anyone in the backseats and just blab on about politics. THE ONLY WAY TO SURVIVE THAT CAR RIDE IS A CHEX MIX OF DRUGS, let me tell you. So, in order to cancel this vacation bound for hell, how can I get sick fast? PS I am doing my mother a favor. All of us will complain after there is nothing to do and just end up fighting. I mean I gotta be SICK for her to cancel this..HEEELLPPPP MEEEE
mmmm no i won’t suck it up. lol. my mother has ditched us for a week to go to central america and drink beers all day with a coworker, then this month she ditched us again to go to an unofficial school reunion. of course she drank with her friends there. so no, i’m not sucking it up anymore. she has kids, and as much as she’d like to go and do things she did in her twenties, she can’t right now. maybe next year, but I think that, like, two weeks of vacation time within three months of each other is enough for right now and she should listen to what we would like to do. which is not go looking for seashells.

My husband and I are trying to come up with an exciting way to tell our parents and siblings that we are pregnant with our first child. Everyone is pretty close, so we have to get them together and tell them at the same time. Do we give them presents… baby bibs…"I love Grandma", or just say, "We have a new addition to our family." Any fun suggestions?

recently, i brought my infant daughter to visit her grandma for the first time- she’s never delt with an infant girl before, as far as diapering and bathing- you know where im going with this..
well, she gave her a bath, then afterward said was getting her dressed and said "oops, i missed something" and i guess, she got a rag and washed up in her "stuff" with it.
i was always told, that you dont do that. that all the cleaning thats done during diapering is all that needs to be done down there. i sometimes, during a bath with a baby rag and NO soap will gently swipe in there.. but i dont spread things apart and get all in there.isnt this bad for the natural ph balance of the vagina? anyway, its no big deal, it was once.. but i want to see if i was correct in what i told her
before anyone comments on my use of words for things.. yes i already know, technical terms for body parts embarras me
the reason why is bc my mom was washing me too much with soap, and i always kept a rash, and i guess she couldnt figure it out, so thats what the doc told her regarding me when i was little

I’m a f/t grandma to my ‘at risk’ twin babies. It has not been the first time that the velcro scratches their delicate skin…but the last time was the last time I will use bibs with velcro. After I fed them I took their clothes off and noticed that one of the twins, had a big bruise where the velcro rubbed against his delicate skin. It has been four days and the bruise is now dried but still red, it pains me just to see it. I have to mention that my grandson is a little delayed and sometimes it’s difficult for him to feel pain. He is receiving therapy for this. I’m really upset that these bibs are very popular, what about just making bibs with snaps? Also the velcro is a nuisance when washing as they stick to other, delicate clothing snagging them…

I’m 30 weeks pregnant with baby #2, a little boy this time
Very excited and want to buy every outfit I see! Learning a lot of self control, lol. Anyway, everyone keeps telling me I should start looking for an outfit to bring him home in. Problem is, how do you know what size he is going to be? My daughter was born at 38 weeks, and only weighed 5lbs 3oz. None of the clothes I got for her fit. So my Grandma had to rush out and get a preemie outfit for her to come home in. What size outfit should we get this time? Should I spend the money on a back up preemie outfit just in case? Or should I just get a newborn? Or what if he’s born HUGE and I need a 0-3 months? So far he’s in the 50th percentile for weight, which is average. But so was my daughter this far along….

I am not pregnant yet, but my mother seems to have issues with becoming a grandma since she feels too young.
She will be about 47 when we have our baby.
My husband and I plan to conceive soon and this will be the first grandbaby in all my family.
My dad seems happy when we talk about having children, but my mom makes faces like she doesn’t want me to become pregnant.
How should we tell my parents that we are expecting our first child when my mom isn’t happy about it?
Should we just tell them or should we tell them by doing something cute (picture frame, bib, etc.)?

I’m starting an Etsy store with my Grandma and Great Aunt. We will make and sell baby products like carseat covers, bibs, blankets, clothes, etc. I need a cute catchy name for the store though. I’m hoping to have it include the word Grandma in the title. Any ideas?
Ok, what do you think of Grandma’s gifts or From Grandma, with love

My grandma says that it means the baby is trying to make room for someone else, usually a younger sibling. Is this fact or fiction in your experience?
amanda_ryan 45- yeah thats what I am referring to.
And everyone else there is no need to be nasty. I just if it was true in your experience. Its a yes or no question.
