How many places should I register? What type of things does one register for? How many items should I register for? Do I register for the bigger price items too? When I had my first baby 7 years ago, I was a older teen mom and I did it all on my own with either hand me downs or garage sale stuff. Now that I am having one the right way (being married and all that jazz), my family and friends are having a shower and suggesting that I register. My family says one thing, but I thinking another. Please help settle the debate…. THANKS!

I was given a bunch of stuff to try and sell at a garage sale, and have some good quality baby items left over (clothes, a few new bottles and some sort of educational bouncer seat). I really don’t want to simply give it to just anyone on Craig’s list, and there are no nearby pregnancy centers that are still operating. Obviously people who use WIC services are lower income families, so do the WIC offices accept used baby items for the needy parents?
Thanks for the website, Carrie!

I really feel like getting rid of the clothes that my daughter is outgrowing, even though I do plan on having more children (in 2-4 years). The thing is that we live in a small apartment now, not much space, not much money. I’d like to garage sale these items, but I’m worried that I’ll regret it later. The argument is that there will be more cute things when Baby 2 is born, no sense in taking up space. Also, we’ll be moving to a different city; we may even move a couple of times.
Did you save your baby clothes or get new ones (even secondhand new ones)?
What’s your advice to me?

I’m having a garage sale and have no idea how to price the baby clothes. I have onsies, pants, long sleeve shirts, t shirts, socks, shoes, outfits and coats. If anyone has a idea on what to price for individual items let me know. I was thinking .25 cents for oncies, .50 cents for shirts, .75 cents for jeans and sweatshirts, 1.00-2.00 a outfit.. .10 for socks. and shoes anywhere from .25 cents – 2.00

The upper track (slider) for a crib that was purchased at a garage sale is missing. Who would carry replacement parts?

I found "My Sisters Closet" and it seems to be a good place to take my clothing because it sells very well maintained and cute clothing. The thing is, they offer 45% of the selling price, the price isn’t guaranteed and they can decrease it at their discretion (20% after 30 days, 50% after 60 if they don’t just get rid of it, I guess) you get charged for any item you want back, they can donate your clothes after 60 days and donate your gear after 90 days and all items that are still there after 90 days are donated anyway….
They supposedly pay out well but I’m just so concerned over the stipulations. What if my stuff doesn’t sell and it just gets donated! Sure, they give you a donation receipt but I can only get a return for that NEXT year because it’s tax season now already. What would be a good strategy here?
I don’t know too much about :
Kid to Kid
Baby Bloomers
Other Mothers
Once Upon A Child (I heard they pay crappy)
I don’t want to do ebay or craigslist (craigslist seems so inactive anymore) and i don’t want a garage sale- ppl expect to pay next to nothing and i’d like a pretty good return for my good quality clothing

I’m having a garage sale here in a few weeks and I have a bunch of stuff to get rid of. I know toys and clothes sell, but what abotu shoes? My husband and I are having a slight disagreement on this. My youngest recieved a pair of Nike shoes for her birthdya last year, and ended up wearing them once. She had a growth spurt and went up to the next size. My husband thinks 50 cents is all they will be worth, but they look brand new. I said wouldn’t be really high and he thinks it will be. So, am I asking a good price? My other question, do baby shoes even sell at garage sales?

I know a woman with 4 daughter, they are grown and 3 of them want nothing to do with her. She treated the baby (Melanie) to designer clothes and private schooling. The other ones got garage sale stuff and public schooling. She never told them she loved them. She never told any of the child except the youngest she loved them. She was extremely physically abusive and mentally abusive to the middle girls. She used the oldest to take care of the other children. She is hateful, manupulative and mean to everyone. She told them she hated them and wished they would die. Even the youngest one, don’t like to be around her. Out of the 2 middle girls, one is a alcholic and drug user, the other one has mental breakdowns. No knows the abuse they went through like the eldest one. She lived her life taking and trying to protect them from her. Even as adults they still crave a mother. I hate people saying they should see her, that is their Mother. I think they are better staying away.
