Am I wrong for doing this to baby?

Let me make myself clear, I’m not one of those people who only likes designer and expensive stuff, but with my son I’ve mixed up his clothing: He wears clothes from Gap, Carters, H&M, Macy’s, but he does have burberry and ralph lauren as well. People are quick to make judgements and snide comments about his fashion. I just love dressing him well not necessarily in brand clothing only, but I don’t think it hurts for my son to have a few brand labels in his wardrobe, do you? I love the way Ralph Lauren looks on kids-so cute! Any way Am I wrong for this?

Ok, my 17 month old little boy is an absloute joy! Never the less, my little boy is just that… an energetic little boy! Being a single mother living with family, i have to keep my infant son’s crib in my room with me. The past few months, as he’s gotten older and more mobile, he’s spent more and more time standing on the side of his crib babbling away to me and just being a cute little boy.

Now…. ive never noticed this a much before, but im sure he did it (cuz he was smaller, so it was never a problem b4!) The width of each of the gaps between the vertical bars on his crib are about 2 1/4". This clearly passes the "soda can" test and all the usually safety standards! My son sticks one of his legs through the gap but it usually get suck on his chubby little thighs when he tries to pull it out ( sometimes he’ll bend his knee and that makes it even harder to get out!) This has become so common place that I keep a bottle of lotion on my night stand! Bathing his leg in lotion is the only way i can get it to slip out!

Im sure this hurts him, and of course that hurts me! This reason is obviously why I want to find a way to prevent this from happening any more. I’m also scared that, as he grows and his leg gets larger, he is going to get it stuck for good and the lotion trick wont work any more. We may even have to cut the wood bars to get his leg out! Of course my son and his body are wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more important than his crib, but if both injurys to boy and crib can be prevented, that would be ideal! Any Advice?!?!?!
Thanks guys, there’s some pretty good answers in there! I really like the mosquito netting idea.Being a former Girl Scout, i forgot how useful those things can be! I’ve also used the plastic mesh made for decks,on the railing around our stairs(where the gaps are much larger.) The "t-bed" option wont work right now. Our room is loft-style so space is extremely limited. Also, i hope i didnt come off as if im just trying to dump my kid in there all day and im restricting his freedom out of pure lazyiness. Ive tried bumpers, but he just rips them off of the string thats tied to the bed. I asked this question out of safetly for my child. It’s a bummer that other parents have to go through this, but it is comforting to know that im not the only mom facing his dilemma! Im going to try the M-Net first. This seems to be a habit with him, not an atempt to escape. So,im figuring, i wont need anything super strong, just some sort of barrier to lessen the ease of this activity. Thanks guys!

Where can I find classic baby clothes?

I just found out I’m having a boy. I’ve put off shopping until I knew the sex but now that I know I can’t seem to find any "normal" baby clothes! Places like Baby Gap have black onesies and really adult-like baby clothes which is okay when he’s older but while he’s a newborn I would like to find just some cute pastel, or striped, clean looking classic clothes. I don’t really care for all the Carters style with ducks and frogs either. Any suggestions? Online or stores?
Ducks and frogs are "normal" for some, but I find them tacky

Where do you like to shop for clothes for your toddler at? Do you have any brands you like? Or hate? My 2 year olds wardrobe is mostly consisted of gap, gymboree, the childrens place, guess, hurley and ralph lauren. I don’t see many parents dress their kids in guess hurley or ralp lauren…is this something u guys would rather not do?

I recently purchased a packed, transfer truck load of consignment clothing for infant and children. I had planned on keeping out many of the name brand items for my own children and allow friends and family go through them as well. That still left me with an absolute huge amount of items! I have sold to several local resale stores and am now down to 14,000-16,000 pieces.

I have decided to plan a huge yard sale for the upcoming weekend. I have placed ads everywhere and already have close to 100 people planning to come. I am also in a great location for yard sales. I feel that I will have a big turnout and should do well. I have planned to price 99% of the items between $ .25 to .00. I do not have the time to price everything with stickers so I am putting up signs that all clothes, with the exception of items on hangers, are $ .25 to .00. Some really nice outfits I plan to hang and price between .00 and .50 because they are new with tag or like new, and name brands (Gymboree, Gap, boutique, etc.). My question is what prices should I put on infant onesies, sleepers, cotton pants, rompers, and bubble outfits? The brands and condition of these vary so I hate to set one price. Some are Gap, Gymboree and in like new condition and some are Target brands and show a little wear. I also have standard sleepers and also have fashion sleepers that could actually be worn as outfits. Brands vary on those from Ralph Lauren to Target/Walmart brands. Again, how do I price these when the brands and conditions vary? I want to keep prices on these items between $ .25 and .00. I would like to get as much as possible out of them because I have to keep my investment and profit in mind. At the same time, I want them to be priced to sell. Any advise on pricing or organizing a sale with this extreme amount of stuff would be greatly appreciated. Again, I do not have time to tag 14-16,000 pieces so any other suggestions would be great. Thanks!!

I also wanted to add that I have been pulling these items, out of my father’s warehouse building, a little at a time. These have never been picked through.

I need to know how baby gap 12-18 mo size compares to carters 12 mo. Is it larger or smaller? My son has just outgrown carters 12mo and I want to bid on an ebay item that is ending today for 12-18mo clothes. However, I’m not sure if they will fit and I don’t have time to go find some gap clothes to try. Any toddler moms know the difference between these two?

I’m not talking about 6 to 10 year old stuff, The things I’m selling are only about 3 or 4 years old. I’ve got some baby and toddler clothes from Gymboree, Baby Gap and Children’s Place that are fairly new, no stains on them and still look great. There are also several cute pairs of shoes that were never even worn. I’ve also got a toddler bed with the mattress, a little tykes kitchen and a few VSmart electronic toys that work just fine. Some people I talk to say to price the clothes and toys at a buck or two, but I just can’t imagine doing that for stuff that originally cost more than 20 bucks. Is 4 or 5 bucks too much? How about the Toddler bed with mattress? The mattress is a Sealy Comfort bed, one side for infants and one side for older babies. Would 20 bucks for the set be too much? Thanks in advance for sharing your advice. -Mich

Where can i find toddlers plus size clothes?

I have a godchild that is 4 and is a husky lil girl. she is wearing a girls 8 or 10 in jeans and pants. one problem is the waist it normally alittle big. The butt area and leg ares fits well. But her mother didnt know they have plus sizes so thats why she buys those sizes. The main problem is that the lengths are alwasy about 2 feet to long. Cutting them to fit length looks horrible because you have to cut so much off and it bring you into the calve or knee area and it gets tight.. I did find her some pants at gap that is a plus 6 and she fits in a size 6 plus girl. Can you imagine the length and size difference from a 6plus to a 8 or 10 girls. It is a big difference. But they never have that size in stock, espically the schhol pants. So i have been looking everywhere online and i dont see any anywhere that have 6plus. they all start at 8plus or higher. Some i find are just so ugly, tight legged. I am looking for the flare or straight legg or bootcut.. I know they have to have these sizes some where, i know she is not the only husky toddler our there… please help, we are so tired of rolling up her pants and it looks horrible…..

I’m looking for a white t-shirt with red stripes similar to Max’s from Max and Ruby in a boys 3T or 4T. Here’s a link to a picture of Max if you aren’t familiar with the cartoon: http://www.noggin.com/games/img/pho110x110mr_toybowling.gif

I’d like to put together a Halloween costume for my son. Unfortunately I don’t sew, so I’m hoping to find a ready made shirt that is similar. I’ve tried the websites I could think of (Wal-Mart, Target, Children’s Place, Sears, K-Mart, Gap, Old Navy, Craigslist) that sell toddler’s clothes — what suggestions do you have?
