I can…do you know of any fabric that isn’t too expensive and fits a boy?

I have a brandnew Sinber entry level sewing machine. it works great – except when I try to sew a hooded towel. When I sew regular fabric onto the towel it is fine. but when I try to attach the hood (i.e. i’m sewing through 4 layers of terricloth) i get bunching/birdsnesting of the top thread on the underside of my project. I have tried rethreading the machine, re-doing the bobbin, changing the tension of both my top thread and the bobbin and nothing seems to help. Could it be my needle? is there anything else I can try?

I am very upset in how there is an overwhelming amount of clothing options for girls in department stores. I like my son to wear a sophisicated, classy, sporty urban look. The only clothes that come close to these looks are at babygap and children’s place in pittsburgh, pa. but unfortunately they charge an arm and a leg for baby clothes which only has but so much fabric to it! do yal feel theres a market out there for an all boys clothing store?
Is there a market for inexpensive all male cothing store geared for newborns to toddlers?

I am making an assortment of baby items (tummy pillow, diaper bag, burp cloth, car seat cover, etc.) I plan to use Scotch Guard to prevent staining but wonder if I should apply the Scotch Guard to the fabric before I sew it or if I should apply it to the finished product. Also any other tips from experienced seamstresses or crafters would be welcome.

Well… I just get this Lacoste Thrill Croc Mesh shoes… and it has white parts in its body, which is getting dirty. I’ve search in Y! Answers for the solution to clean up the white shoes, and have tried it, but it doesn’t seem to be working too much, because I think the white part of this shoes made up of special fabric… heres the link to the shoes photographed http://img474.imageshack.us/img474/5411/dsc00004oy7.jpg

I am almost 37 weeks pregnant now.. I planned to wash my baby clothes.. What is the different between dreft and suavitel fabric? Which one would u using dreft or suavitel fabric? Why?

Only on the fabric and not touching skin, I want to make it just tight enough that she can’t push it over her heel with her other foot but not tight enough to be restrictive. Painter’s tape is designed to leave no adhesive residue when taken off. Please don’t be rude if this is a horrible idea. I have to buy a new pack of socks every other week and the temp outside will be in the low 50s and 40s soon so I’m a little desperate.

I have a gray zipper hoodie that is about two or three sizes to big…I don’t really want to make it fit I just want ways to make it fun and kinda punk-ish

My friend was telling me about this baby blanket she wants to make sometime. I guess one of her other friends showed it to her. It is made from at least 2 different flannel prints sewn together. All I can remember is that she said it looks like a flower when you open it, it has blanket binding, and you have to sew at least some of the fabric together across the middle. I know this is vague, but I am hoping someone has seen this blanket or knows the name of it. I would love to know how to make one.

We are a family with two babies and a toddler. I like to eat buy organic Eco to have least impact on planet but it isn’t cheap

I try to use fabric nappies at home and will switch now 100 percent to using clothes as wipes and kitchen roll when out
