A close friend recently had her baby shower and afterward I asked what she still needs and she said she doesn’t have a baby bag. She specified that she has a diaper bag already, but not a baby bag.
I’m coming up with all I should buy, heres what I got so far:
Carrier/Sling
Bassinet (I was thinking of using mine from when I was a baby, I know my mom would give it to me, and it’s in very good shape)
Baby bath soup/lotion/shampoo/powder
Bath tub
Bottles&nipples (I’ll breast feed but like just incase, so only two or three, like if I go out one night)
Bouncy chair&Swing
Changing Table
Cloth Diapers (I’m using disposable, but like to put on my should when burping and such)

Diapers (like three packs)

Also, should I ask my mom for the guest room to turn it into the baby room (which is another room away from mine, my sisters is in the middle), or should I try to fix my room up to fit me and the baby, or should I ask my mom for the basement (which is finished, nothing is down there, my parents don’t use it, it’s just empty rooms and a bathroom, and a work out room, with a place that a small kitchen could be built, and it’s walk out)?
Oh! If I toke the basement then me and the baby would be there, it has about two rooms, an open area and a kind of like sun room.
I don’t know about a baby shower…My friends are mostly guys, the girl friend I had is dating the dad now, so I wouldn’t really have anyone to invite besides my mom and cousins wife haha
I am making an assortment of baby items (tummy pillow, diaper bag, burp cloth, car seat cover, etc.) I plan to use Scotch Guard to prevent staining but wonder if I should apply the Scotch Guard to the fabric before I sew it or if I should apply it to the finished product. Also any other tips from experienced seamstresses or crafters would be welcome.
My sister is pregnant, and my mother and I are looking for outfits for her baby shower. (her and her husband have alot of the bigger things, like a crib, diaper bag, bottles, etc. How many outfits/pieces of clothing does a newborn baby need? I know they grow fast so we don’t want to get too much is newborn size. How quickly do they change sizes and how many of the next size up should we get?
It’s a baby boy, if it matters.
Besides clothes and toys, can you please look over my list and see if there is anything else I can add to the it for a new baby, also if you would like to add stuff for a new mommy that would be nice =)

My daughter will be 2 in July and I am thinking about getting her another diaper bag, hers in getting pretty worn out-was a cheap wal-mart diaper bag! My question is, is she to old for a diaper bag? i usually keep diapers, wipes, change of clothes, and tons of snacks for when we go out. I found these bags at the mall that you can personalize with the childs name on them, I was just wondering if she was getting to old for one? how old is your toddler and do you have a diaper bag for them, what do you keep in it? thanks for all your help!!
The room really isn’t that big, a changing table can fit but it will be kind of packed with the glider, crib, daybed, dresser etc. If I dont get one is it practical to have to change the baby on the daybed? Is there some kind of waterproof padding for this? (and not the small one that comes in a diaper bag)
