cloth diapers (g diapers) diy inserts?

My mother in law gave me a pack of 2 g diapers but no inserts…. I wanted to know if anyone can give me the measurements of the cloth inserts for them so I can make them myself. Also, Can I make them out of like a towel fabric and then flannel on top? Or can I just use those flat diaper/burp cloths made by gerber as the inserts? thanks!

fyi, I dont use cloth diapers so I just want to try these out and see how it goes.

Target's Circo cloth diapers?

I was given a couple of burp cloths made from Circo cloth diapers. I don’t think these were sold as burp cloths because they are embroidered. I know that Target carries Circo products. Does anyone know if they sell regular cloth diapers made by circo? These are much nicer diapers than the gauze or birdseye weave. If we had a Target here, I’d just go by and see for myself, but our closest Target is an hour away. And they aren’t on the website.
TIA
one of them actually appears to be stamped with 2 small dolphins and "I love mommy", the other one has "Thank Heaven for Little Girls" on it. The embroidery takes up no more than 4" on each one.

cloth diaper questions?

i’ve been thinking about using cloth diapers (at least during the day). i was looking online a cloth diapers but they sure aren’t the cloth diapers i’m used to seeing (i guess i’m living in the past). i’m used to the cloth diapers that are more like an extra large burp cloth and then safety pinned on. when i was looking on line there was something called thirsties, and talk of inserts, etc.

can someone explain to me the difference in the new cloth diapers- which brand is best? or would you think just using the old fashioned cloth diapers are about the same (i’m thinking about using just the old fashioned kind)

I know baby’s tend make a mess in their diapers of course like 8 times a day. Was just wondering how much does your water bill go up if you were to buy cloth diapers? People say they only pay 0 for cloth diapers, but how much do you spend a month for washing them all day long not including your normal laundry?

I’m blessed to be pregnant again at 8 years. I want to try cloth diapers this time. What is the best all in one cloth diaper that goes from infant to potty trainer?

I would like to dye my soon to be baby boys cloth diapers blue, I can’t get over how much more it costs to buy them already dyed. Anyhow I will be using the dyed diapers as burp cloths not as diapers (using Fuzzi Bunz for that). Serious answers only please… Thanks!

since my niece is still a child herself, she’s 14 and I am her legal gardian i’ve taken it upon myself to make sure she has everything she needs for the baby. (i’ve made her take responsibility too, but there are many things she hasn’t even thought about, like breastfeeding, and diapers… I now scary about the be a mom and doesn’t "have time" to think about all that)

So I did an inventory of everything she has for the baby tell me if we forgot something:

Crib with 7 sets of sheets, bumber, and secure sleeper
20 cases of "7th generation baby" biodegradable diapers (in newborn and stage 1 sizes)
diaper genie
manual breast pump
2 diaper bags
13 glass pre-boiled bottles with nipples
2 cases of Vermont Organics DHA Soy Based Organic Infant Formula (6 cans in each case, if she decides not to breastfed)
1 to go pack of Huggies baby wipes with aloe
2 large boxes of generic baby wipes
6 baby wipe refills
5 carsets, 1 unbrella stroller, 1 big stroller, and 1 portable crib (car seats for my car, dad’s car, my wife’s car, my mom’s car, and 1 extra)
a mountain of baby clothing including socks and pajamas
1 baby bean bag sleeper thing (don’t know how to describe it)
a toy box 1/2 full of baby toys
emergancy baby kit with bandaids, butt-thermometer, ear-thermometer, and binkie thermometer, oh and some baby tylonal and other stuff too.
A baby bathtub
baby soaps and rags,
cloth diapers
and
squeeky socks

I’ll be using cloth diapers for burp cloths instead of receiving blankets, so I won’t be going thru as many of them but will still use them for laying him down on the couch or floor, swaddling, naps, to prop up his head.. etc. Obviously they are going to get spit-up on them, but it’s not what I’ll be reaching for when I go to burp him… So how many do you think I’ll need?? As is, I’ve got about 20 or so. Is this more than enough?

I am going to be using chinese prefolds but I want to know what is the best insert to put in with that if I need it to keep my baby feeling drier? I heard about one a few months ago and was sure I would remember and now I don’t. I want something that wicks away the wetness to help prevent diaper rash and help keep my baby feeling comfortable. Any suggestions would be great thanks! (I used cloth diapers on my first kid but I had trouble and hope this small change might help)

Suggestions for heavy baby boy clothing?

I have 5 month old baby boy who was born at 5lbs 15.4ozs and 19.25inches. He is now 27inches and 18.5lbs. He is exclusively breast-fed and his pediatrician says he is very healthy which is fabulous. I’m struggling though to find clothes that fit him. Most brand names like Carters are too tight around his belly or I can’t get them over his adorable cloth diapers (smartipants; which I love!). Any suggestions on brands that fit heftier babies?
