Is this a good Get Before The Baby Comes list?

I’m coming up with all I should buy, heres what I got so far:
Carrier/Sling
Bassinet (I was thinking of using mine from when I was a baby, I know my mom would give it to me, and it’s in very good shape)
Baby bath soup/lotion/shampoo/powder
Bath tub
Bottles&nipples (I’ll breast feed but like just incase, so only two or three, like if I go out one night)
Bouncy chair&Swing
Changing Table
Cloth Diapers (I’m using disposable, but like to put on my should when burping and such)
Crib
Diaper bag
Diaper pail
Baby wipes
Diapers (like three packs)
Hooded bath towels
Car seat
Stroller
Thermometors (I think I want to get the ones you roll across the head)
Lots of onesies
6 sleepers
Lots if socks and booties
3 hats
Lots of bibs
3 undershirts
3 light weight blankets
2 blankets
soft washcloths
Combs
Baby nail clippers
Pacifiers
Nasal Aspirator
Sun shades for car
Breast pads
V-shaped cushion
Breast Pump
Sterilizing equipment
toys
Coat/jacket
4 pants, 3 shirts

Anything else I should get?
Also, should I ask my mom for the guest room to turn it into the baby room (which is another room away from mine, my sisters is in the middle), or should I try to fix my room up to fit me and the baby, or should I ask my mom for the basement (which is finished, nothing is down there, my parents don’t use it, it’s just empty rooms and a bathroom, and a work out room, with a place that a small kitchen could be built, and it’s walk out)?
Oh! If I toke the basement then me and the baby would be there, it has about two rooms, an open area and a kind of like sun room.
I don’t know about a baby shower…My friends are mostly guys, the girl friend I had is dating the dad now, so I wouldn’t really have anyone to invite besides my mom and cousins wife haha

Experiences with making your own baby wipes?

I’m loving my cloth diapers and am considering making my own cloth baby wipes. Does anyone have any advice? Favorite baby wipe recipes? Is using the cloth wipes more trouble than they’re worth?

(Sorry this is so long! Many thanks in advance to those who reply!)

We are at week 34 awaiting the arrival of our Babygirl. Gifts and hand-me-downs are starting to come in that we’re marking off the "need to get" list (per Babies R Us).

We still have lots we need to get, so I wanted to ask for your opinions. For all those moms and dads out there, I have attached, below, the Babies R Us "Parents Checklist." What is necessary? What is not? What is invaluable? What did you get on a whim and are eternally grateful for having? What turned out to be nothing but junk? What brands are the best (i.e., I hear that Boudreaux’s "Butt Paste" is the best there is)?

I’m starting to scout out Craigslist and eBay for deals (who the heck knew breast pumps were unbelievably expensive??? At least I can get new, in box items from eBay and save a few if I watch like a hawk!). If any of you have insights that you would share, we would be very grateful. Thanks!

I found out a little too late that you cannot use certain diaper rash creams with cloth diapers. Luckily I only got it on 3 of the diapers. Anyway…does anyone know how to get it off?

Thanks!

I can’t seem to find them anywhere. I’ve seen them in a couple of stores labeled as "burp cloths." Is that really them?

I just want to do it in the most cost efficient way possible. I’d like to buy them in-person, rather than over the Internet, so if you know of any good stores that would be great. I would be willing to buy them off the Internet if you know of an especially good/cheap web site.

Also, how many should I get? Which covers do you prefer? I’m open to using some disposable diapers while I’m getting adjusted to everything, but I want to eventually use nearly only cloth diapers, and I want to wash them myself instead of using a service.

No rude answers, please.

Here’s what I have so far on my registry:

BumGenius Flip Day Pack Cloth Diaper Set (qty. 4) comes with 2 covers and 6 inserts
Organic Cotton Wipes (20)
Burp Cloth Diapers (8)
Diaper Liners (cloth) (20)
Washable prefold diapers (12)–to use as burp cloths or regular diapers as needed
Flushable biodegradable diaper liners–are these even necessary?

My other question is, what do you think I’ll need for nighttime diapering? I was thinking I would just use the Flip cover with a prefold and extra insert…or I’d figure out what works best when baby comes. Thanks for the advice CD-ing moms!

Questions about cloth diapers…?

I’m considering using cloth diapers for my 10 month old son. I’ve always used disposable diapers. This may sound dumb but the only cloth diapers I’ve seen in the store are just like a burp cloth….and it would seem that if my son peed it would leak through…? Is leaking a problem? Do you have to wear waterproof pants with them? I would think waterproof pants would be sweaty and uncomfortable. Maybe I’m just over estimating the amount of pee my son would have?

And like I said the only type Ive seen are like the gerber burp cloth-type. I’ve never shopped for them so dont know what I’m looking for. Velcro ones would be. Which kind do you recommend? How do I put them on…? lol any links are much appreciated. Also are there cloth diapers that are available that are absorbent enough to last the night? My son usually goes about 10 hrs at night without a diaper change.

Any patterns for a child size Moby Wrap?

We got my daughter a baby alive doll for Christmas and I want to make doll size cloth diapers as well as a moby wrap to give to her as another present. Are their any patterns that anyone knows of to be able to make her a child size moby wrap?
Thank you!!

Making sure I have everything for baby?

I have:
14+ onesies
8 pairs pants
6/7 outfits
5 hats
10? pairs of socks
4 pairs shoes
36+ cloth diapers (planning to use once we get adjusted, as well as for burp clothes)

6 "baby" hooded towels and wash clothes
Baby tub and temperature checking duckie
Baby wash, lotion, powder
Baby oil gel
Diaper cream (2 kinds)
Alcohol and cotton balls
Brush and comb
Thermometer
Booger sucker

Baby Monitors (for when he’s sleeping and I’m working)
Travel swing
Gym
Changing pad (the big curved one) and 2 covers
5 sheets and 1 plastic cover
5 swaddling blankets
Moby wrap and 3 ring slings (for when he’s awake with me at work)

And of course, 3 packs of newborn diapers and a box (the 5 pack of wipe refill) of wipes.

Am I missing anything?
Oops. I have 2 nursing bras, pads (both kinds), the lanisoln or whatever, and a boppy.

Wal Mart is less than 2 miles, so I didn’t want to get a ton of diapers yet.
I have 5 or so sleepers and mittens for his hands, nail clippers, and blanket for the carseat.

I do have 2 bottles, just in case, and am not wanting to do pacifiers.
