I want to get the infant tub super clean, but I’ve never used bleach before and have no clue how much to use. I know I’m supposed to dilute it in water, but what kind of bleach/water ratio do I need? Is bleach even safe? I saw a commercial for Clorox that said it’s safe to use on baby toys and bottles, so I went ahead and bought some. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I wanted to use bleach but my hubby said it might give him a rash or something. So my question is what’s safe to use to remove stains off baby’s clothes. He’s starting solids and well he get’s it everywhere. Do you mommy’s put on something you don’t mind staining every time you feed your baby’s solids,
Thank you mommy’s im a first time mother, so I’m a bit lost here.

I was given a free crib mattress that is covered in vinyl and I’m 6 months pregnant and want to set up my son’s stuff already. I just want to clean the mattress and make it germ free but I don’t know if I can use bleach?

Last week, the midwest was hit with some terrible storms, tons of rain. We live in a home that never ever gets a flooded basement, which is why I was comfortable storing stuff down there. Everything (minus toys, books, and pictures) from my daughters baby life up until now (she is 3), was stored down there in garbage bags and big plastic bins. We woke up to over 12 inches of water in our basement (there was over 3 feet of water outside our home- we live up a hill, so thankfully THAT didn’t reach our house!)Thankfully, most of the bins were up on shelves, so they were unharmed. There were a few bins of clothes (all of her newborn-3-6 months stuff) that were completely soaked. Among the other stuff that was under water was her cradle swing, boppy pillow, and mobile/soother. I think the swing got it the worst. Completely submurged in the water. Would you just junk it, or try to dry it out and clean it up? I don’t have a huge problem with getting rid of it (though i am sentimental about all of this stuff) as my hubby to be has already promised to buy a new one for the next baby. I’ve already tossed the boppy and mobile and soother
. My mom helped me clean all of the clothes in bleach, so most of those made it through.
The very bottom of the bassinet was in like… 5 inches of water (it was up on wooden pallets to keep it off the ground.) would you toss that too, or clean it up?
and by the very bottom, i mean just the legs, not the basket or anything.

A few days ago we went to a nature park with some friends in North Florida. We have a 2 1/2 year old daughter who was running around quite a bit. Later on in the afternoon, someone discovered a tick on their leg… so they told me to make sure I check my daughter when we get home. Of course I did a mini-check at that time & saw nothing. We get home, daughter runs to the couch before I can get her into the bath. I get her undressed & notice two nymph deer ticks on the inside of her thigh, husband gets the tweezers & we get them out – completely. After her bath, I shower & notice an adult deer tick on my hip – husband gets it out. No ticks on husband, no ticks on 2 1/2 month old son. I wash all our clothes in hot water with bleach. Put them in the dryer, start folding them later that night & see another nymph deer tick crawling on my shorts – survived the washer & dryer! Now I’m feeling like there could be ticks all over our car & our house. I’m just wondering if it’s common for ticks to just walk on someones clothes & make it into the car/house. It’s been almost 48 hours & no ticks have attached to any of us. We don’t have any pets. If it weren’t for the baby & the toddler, I would have bought some bug bombs by now – basically, I don’t want to do anything that’s NOT necessary. But will do, if necessary. I’m kinda freaking out, so any help would be great, that doesn’t lead me into a panic attack!

I just think it’s overkill. I spray some Simple Green on a wet cloth and wipe down all my daughter’s toys. Sometimes I actually just use water. They never get dirty but I do this anyway. I don’t care how good someone rinses them off after wards, bleach is just so gross. I can’t imagine it being in my baby’s mouth.

My 6 month baby spit up sweet potatoes all over his shirt. I’ve tried bleach and oxyclean. Does anyone know how I can get this stain out? It’s such a cute outfit!!!
This is our first experience with solid foods, so I’m anticipating it will happen more!
