PUBIC LICE? BODY LICE? What is it?!?

I have like some sort of rashes across my belly area going down from my belly button. They’r really itchy and I’m sure I’m not allerigc to anything. The slightly older ones are turning purpley now and the new ones are pink. They’r kind of round. I found one on my back a rash on my back a few days ago. Thing is about a week ago, I saw this small living thing come out of my belly button. I was itching in my belly button ’cause there was a rash there too. Then suddenly it just crawled out of my belly button. Its teeny, basically liek a dot that moves and I think it has wings. Now today I felt a sudden urge to itch on my hip area, so I moved my clothes and I saw nother one of those things. Iknow its not the same one ’cause I killed the last one and washed it down the sink xD This one was brown :S And now I definatly saw wings. Its tiny! I also killed this but the area where it was crawling went pink and swelled up a tiny bit. My theory is that they’r the ones that are creating these rashes. Thing is my baby sister who’s just 3 has them literally all over herself. Could this living thing be causing it? Any idea what it is? Please don’t say go to the doc. I really don’t wanna! How can I get rid of this, there’s another little brother or sister on the way so I’m worried help!

I was wondering what the best type of clothing would be for bringing home my baby from the hospital? For example, a "onesie" versus a T-shirt, side-snapping outfit, etc. I figured it should be something that won’t irritate the belly-button too much. Any suggestions? What did you dress your baby in for his or her first time home?

My mother-in-law mentioned that back in 1978, she was told by a hospital nurses to place a raisin in her newborn child’s belly button to create an innie. However, she doesn’t recall if it was right away or after the dried portion fell off. Right away seems unlikely because of the delicate condition, but I’m not an expert. It worked, but then again, I too have an innie without using this method. BTW, my mother laughed at the suggestion and went on about possible infection.

I have to admit I am fashion clueless. I’m a perfect candidate for "What Not to Wear." I have no clue how to pick clothing that will flatter my body. I have a very short torso, long legs, very (almost comically) large breasts and just had a baby so I’m about a size 16 currently. Bra and tank top straps are always several inches too long for me. I never seem to find tops that have enough room in the bust. The smallest part of my waist is almost right under my breasts. The top of my hips come just a bit higher than my belly button. What cuts of clothing should I be looking at? I’m breastfeeding so if you know, which of those types of clothing will also be easiest for me to pop a breast out when its meal time? What will look best on me as I lose the weight?
I’m not going for fashion model, just trying not to look like a slob! I’m currently in a bathrobe, sweat pants, and slippers. :D That wont fly when I start going into public again. My son is only 4 weeks old and I’ve already lost 35 pounds.

She lost her umbilical cord yesterday and has a foul smell of formula on her (she tends to dribble when she eats). The wiping with wash cloths just wasn’t cutting it. When can I stick her in the infant tub and actually bathe her with her belly button below water? I would like answers from someone who had an answer from a doctor or pediatrician please, I just want to be sure its safe :-)
YAAAY! Thanks for the answers everybody :-) I can’t wait until that smell is off of her!

Pregnant and rash on my stomach?

I am 23 weeks pregnant and noticed in the last week I’ve had a light rash on my stomach, On either side of my belly button and big circles that cover most of my belly. Tonight I noticed it’s on my hips too (This I think may be cause by my pants/underwear) but i wear loose shirts everyday (I’m a stay at home mom) So I rarely change out of my comfy clothes. Could it be my belly stretching and just getting a weird color? I’ve been baby oiling my stomach for quite awhile now but could it be a reaction to the oil? Has anyone else had this? Do I need to say something to my doctor or is this normal?
Thanks in advance!
This is my second pregnancy with my second boy. I did not have this with my first and my stomach isn’t as bad as the pictures of PUPPS on google, but it’s still a possibility, Thanks for the answers so far!

After having a baby, I gained a little weight and put on a little pudge. Now my waist is still larger than normal but my hips are down to a normal size. However, after donating all of my summer clothes last year while I was pregnant (hint: don’t do that), I need new clothes for the summer. I’m losing weight, so spending more than /pair seems a little silly.

Old Navy capris fit well, but their styles are limited. I know that Gap has the same size chart, but their prices are just too high.

It seems that if I go to other stores, namely LL Bean and Lands End, the waists on capris ride too high (above belly button) and the size charts would mean that to fit my waist, it would be just too big everywhere else.

While tailoring is always an option, I would like to avoid it at all costs.

Does anyone have any stores they like to use; purchasing online is the best because with two kids, busy weekends and a full-time job, ”m just plain busy.

My daughter, Avary, is now 13 months old. She was entirely breast fed for the first 6 months of her life but then I had to ween her onto formula for medical reasons. I am a single mother, although her father is involved in her life to some degree (supervised visitation for now). I have raised her following Attachment Parenting and I strongly believe in this parenting method. I co-sleep with my daughter – have since birth. I am a very open person and have never hidden my body from her and I don’t intend to do so. I will teach her that certain things are private of course, but that our bodies are nothing to be ashamed of… but that’s a whole other issue for down the road. Anyway, over the last month or two she has become very aware of my body; perhaps because I have been teaching her the names for her own body parts; like "Where is Avary’s nose? Where is mommy’s nose? Where is Avary’s mouth, belly button, and so on." In the morning primarily, when we wake up and cuddle and play for a few minutes before getting up for the day, sometimes my tank top will slip to the side and she will see my nipple. She always seems super interested in it. I don’t think she remembers it as a source of food and she has never tried to nurse again. She usually just pushes on it like she’s pressing a button or tries to squeeze it – that sort of thing. I don’t want to make her feel that there is anything negative attached to any part of our bodies at such a young age and when she is older I will certainly teach her about appropriate verses inappropriate behavior/touching/boundaries, etc. My question is, have you ever had a similar situation arise with a child of your own? (I am not talking about someone elses child as that is obviously an entirely different situation). How do you handle it at such a young age? I usually treat it as though it is any other part of my body. I say "That is mommy’s boobie. You used to get milk from there but now you are a big girl and drink cow’s milk from a cup." Sometimes I show her that she has two boobies just like mommy does, then I go on to another body part like the ears or tummy. When she pushes hard on my nipple I say "ouch, that hurts mommy" and I leave it at that – like I would with any other body part. I also notice that when I change in front of her she seems very curious about what is under my clothes. I feel like it is completly natural for a child to be curious about everything around them. She is probably thinking to herself "I wonder why we cover ourselves in clothes all the time; all I really need is my diaper, LOL!" Anyway, how would you/do you react in these situations? Are you open with your children about your’s and their bodies? How do you act/react?

***NOTE*** I am not creating situations to provoke her curiosity. They are just everyday scenarios where she natrally sometimes sees my unclothed body. I always wear tank tops to bed so it happens sometimes that the strap slips down without me even noticing it (I have pretty small breasts so there’s not much there to keep it up, LOL)

Please only answer seriously. No rude comments or negative connotations. Thanks in advance for your polite answers!
Thanks everyone! You are all making me feel a lot better about this stuff. I sometimes… um, often have varying views on parenting issues than my more conservative family and friends and it’s nice to hear I am not alone. Thanks again!

Dry skin on an infant, normal or not?

My daughter, Zoey, who is now 5.5 months old, has always seemed to have this chronic dry skin issue (ever since just a few weeks old), but ONLY on her forehead and temples occasionally. It comes and goes, and seems to be worse after bathes. Lotion helps, but I would have to apply several times a day. At first, I assumed it was just dry skin, but it’s never officially gone away. I have dry skin issues when the seasons change (summer to winter, winter to summer), is this just a possible genetic hang up? Is this just sensitive baby skin, or a more serious condition, like eczema? The rest of her skin is amazingly perfect.
When I was an infant, my mother told me I used to have a touch of eczema behind the ears. Now I see regular dry spots on my belly (both sides of the belly button), and on my forehead, just like my daughter.
