So first baby, and of course baby shower. I tried going to The Children’s Place and asking they do baby registry but they don’t. Also to do the whole registry thing do we have to pay for anything? We know nothing about baby showers, and baby registry. So a step by step advice would be great. Like when we should do it and how we should do it.thanks!

Well my cousin just had her third baby shower. Everyone I know has baby showers for each pregnacy. Recently I was told by an in-law that a woman is only posed to have one. I have never haerd of this rule.

I’m only 18 weeks and 6 days w/ baby #1, but I want to get a head start on planning, etc. I have a few questions about baby showers.
- what all do you put on your registry?
- can you have more than one registry, like at target and walmart,etc?
- if you have more than one can you put the same thing on both, such as strollers,etc?
- is it ok to have more than one shower? I have family here in KY, IN, and IL
- how far along should you be when you have a shower? I’m due June 24
- who buys the big things, crib, bed set, swing, stroller, etc?
- who "hosts" the shower?
- what do you do if some of the things you want are only available online?

Also feel free to share any other info that you think would be useful to know. And things that I may not think to put on the registry. Thanks

i was wondering when it come to baby showers when its not your first child… my cousin and i which we are more like sisters are due around the same time… its her second child and my third but my second passed away so i got rid of all baby stuff i had… and we were thinking of throwing each other a shower and do it together so all the family only had one shower to go to… does any one think this is a good idea or have any ideas

Is it appropriatte for the father of the baby to be at the baby shower with me? I know it use to be custom that only women were allowed at baby showers but obviously it isn’t like that any more. I was just wondering since my boyfriend wants to be there to open presents but I like following traditions like that.

I have an 18 month old son, and i am 20 weeks pregnant… I have been wondering do people have baby showers if the kids will be close in age… I dont know the sex yet… but when i find out should i go along with a baby shower? I have alot of boy clothes left (i gave about 1/2 of them away for needy familys)… what would u do if u were in my position? If its a boy what would u do? If its a girl what would u do?

The father of my first child is Italian, and he told me that he and his family won’t come to my baby shower because the Italian culture teaches that baby showers before birth are bad luck. I just want to know if it’s true, please no bashing, just a question of curiosity.

My friend’s sister is 21 and pregnant with baby #2. Her first daughter will turn 2 a few months after the second daughter is born.

She asked if she was getting another baby shower and said she has already registered for baby #2.

My friend is upset because her sister registered for another swing, playpen and other items that she got with the first baby. The sister said she gave it all away even though they planned to have another baby and she also wants the new baby to have all new things like her sister did.

I know they don’t have a lot of money, but don’t you think this is unacceptable?

Showers for second babies close in age that include a registry for clothes, diapers and bottles are okay to me, but not like my friend’s sister is doing. I just feel you don’t have child and expect others to pay for things the baby needs especially when you should have all those items that are not even two years old yet.

Are baby showers for two children close in age okay?
