okay so I’m barely 6 weeks pregnant and I’m going really baby crazy buying alot of neutral baby clothes, blankets, and accessories. I had been wanting a baby for so long and I’m totally happy for it. The thing is my husband tells me "oh I think its to early for you to be buying anything" and now I’m embarrassed to buy or look at the baby section infront of him when we go to the store. What should I do?
we live together so its not like I could hide all the clothes.

After the baby shower….clothes and dresses?

I posted this in the Newborn and baby section, but was wandering if any of you in the pregnacy section are dealing with this also…

My baby shower was on Sunday and I am so thankful for all of the generous gifts I recieved. We got a ton of things that we needed and things that are useful. I knew that we would probably get a lot of clothes, and we did. One thing I noticed was that we recieved a lot of really cute summertime/ spring dresses size 0-3 or 3-6. I also had a few cute ones given to me way before the shower. My dilema is that I can’t think of many occasions this summer where she will be able to wear all these dresses to, and she’s going to grow out of them so fast. I know where a few of them came from and now is the time to take them back if I want to. I guess my question is, did you recieve a lot of cute little dresses and was your baby able to wear them all or do you think I should take them back. (I feel bad taking them back and the ones that I know where they came from are the SUPER cute ones, of course). What do you think?
The dresses that I am particularly talking about are more fancy than anything…

I’m headed up to Toronto and must get a high harnessed weight car seat. I am looking for the Toys R Us that has the biggest baby section, or any other baby boutique. Thanks!

Am I the only one that finds this odd?

I have been dating this man for a few months now and he picks out baby names. He has a girl name and a boy name picked out for his future children. Sometimes when we are in a store and we pass the baby section, he will show me cute baby clothes. I asked him if he wanted a baby and he said he does in the future. Im not planning on having a baby with him, we just started dating, but I find it so werid to have a conversation with a man about baby names. What do you all think?

My husband really wants to be surprised. I would rather find out, but I wouldn’t be able to keep it a secret from him :) The problem I have is that I was walking through the baby section today and realized there are NO gender-neutral baby clothes anymore! At first I thought we’d have to get everything in green, yellow and red, but colors aren’t the problem – everything has either ruffles or a truck on it. So I’m worried if we really don’t find out until the birth that we’ll have to buy both boy and girl newborn clothes (even the onesies were definitely one or the other unless they were plain white!) and have to put off buying anything else until the baby is born. How did you handle it?
Plus I really don’t want to have to do a lot of shopping with a newborn, and my husband cannot be trusted to pick out even his OWN clothes, lol.
I’m not having a shower since we live 2300 miles away from everyone we know right now. I think if we get anything from friends and family it will be in the form of a gift card.

What baby gear do you REALLY need?

I was browsing through the baby section at a local store the other day, and many of the things I saw seemed excessive. For those of you with parenting experience, what do you think you really need, and what do you feel was unnecessary?

I went to a few stores last night and in the baby section it was more baby girl clothes than boys. I couldn’t find anything for my one month old son. Is shopping for boys harder? Is it true that there are more baby girls born then there are boys? Does anyone else have problems looking for baby boy clothes? thanks
i went to walmart and they had the 3$ sales but nothing for my son. it was all girls clothes.

Where did you buy/get all your baby stuff?

I’ve been looking online for a couple of months, and looked at websites like Babies R Us, Walmart, Target and a few others for baby stuff. I like BRUS but in some things they’re prices, I ain’t payin’..lol Some thing are ridiculous in prices and then somethings I like at the cheaper stores I don’t like or they don’t have good reviews. Things like towels washcloths, clothes [basics], all the way up to the big things. Were there any unpopular online discount baby stores or other stores where you got things for cheap? Or other online stores with a baby section? I am definitely up for hitting up consignment shops…Though no questions asked I am buying a new and good crib mattress. Where did you get everything for baby?
