Parenting…star if ya like?

Being a parent changes everything. But being a parent also changes with each baby. Here are some of the ways having a second and third child is different from having your first.

Your Clothes

1st baby: You begin wearing maternity clothes as soon as your OB/GYN confirms your pregnancy.
2nd baby: You wear your regular clothes for as long as possible.

3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes.

—————

Preparing for the Birth

1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously.

2nd baby: You don’t bother practicing because you remember that last time, breathing didn’t do a thing.

3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your 8th month.

—————

The Layette

1st baby: You pre-wash your newborn’s clothes, color-coordinate them, and fold them neatly in the baby’s little bureau.

2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard only the ones with the darkest stains.

3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can’t they?

—————
Worries

1st baby: At the first sign of distress – a whimper, a frown-you pick up the baby.

2nd baby: You pick the baby up when her wails threaten to wake your firstborn.

3rd baby: You teach your 3-year-old how to rewind the mechanical swing.

—————

Pacifier

1st baby: If the pacifier falls on the floor, you put it away until you can go home and wash and boil it.

2nd baby: When the pacifier falls on the floor, you squirt it off with some juice from the baby’s bottle.

3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in.

—————

Diapering

1st baby: You change your baby’s diapers every hour, whether they need it or not.

2nd baby: You change their diaper every 2 to 3 hours, if needed.

3rd baby: You try to change their diaper before others start to complain about the smell or you see it sagging to their knees.

—————

Activities

1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, BabySwing, and Baby Story Hour.

2nd baby: You take your infant to
the supermarket and the dry cleaner.

—————

Going Out

1st baby: The first time you leave your baby with a sitter, you call home 5 times.

2nd baby: Just before you walk out the door, you remember to leave a number where you can be reached.

3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees blood.

—————

At Home

1st baby: You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby.

2nd baby: You spend a bit of everyday watching to be sure your older child isn’t squeezing, poking, or hitting the baby.

3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the children.

—————

Swallowing Coins

1st child: when first child swallows a coin, you rush the child to the hospital and demand x-rays.

2nd child: when 2nd child swallows a coin, you carefully watch for coin to pass.

3rd child: when 3rd child swallows a coin you deduct it from his allowance!!
Sorry about the activities part,I screwed up ’cause of the word limit.Here.

Activities

1st baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics, BabySwing, and Baby Story Hour.

2nd baby: You take your infant to Baby Gymnastics.

3rd baby: You take your infant to the supermarket and the dry cleaner.

Do other moms feel like baby boys get jipped?

They make SO many cute clothes for girls, I feel like baby boys get totally over looked!

We are 20 weeks 5 days pregnant with our first baby and Ive been buying baby clothes every chance I get…I just find baby boys get jipped ! They dont make NEARLY as many cute things for baby boys!

Anyone have any recommendations of where to find some cute stuff?

Why is it that they say boys are easier as infants?

I was dissapointed when the doctor was telling me for my second pregnancy that I was having a boy because my family is full of girls and I never really dealt with baby boys before (plus I really didnt want to have to buy all new clothes, I know I am cheap), however, everybody kept reassuring me that boys are a lot easier. Why is that? And if that is true, why do people also keep telling me that girls catch on quicker than boys (i.e talking, toilet training, counting etc.)?

I know that the overwhelmingly large amount of countries on the planet do not force it upon their baby boys. However, I do want to know if some countries make it explicitly against federal law to force an unnecessary circumcision against a male infant, regardless of the parents’ religion. What are the penalties if this is true?

Baby clothing and gender standards.?

Anyone noticed the extreme difference between the options available for little girls and boys when it comes to clothing?

First of all there is Much less available on the market for little boys then girls. Seems the selection available is at least double for the baby girls in the majority of stores.
Then girls have every single color available to them, little boys pretty much have blue green and a tannish brown. Most of the "gender neutral" colors, are made in a fashion for the girls not boys…there are even "male" colors made with a "girls" theme on them.
Themes are different as well…boys are limited to trains/car, puppies, and sports…Lots and Lots of sports outfits. Girls everything seems available every animal, bug, cars and sports.
but the thing that hits me the most…is much of the young males clothing especially the toddler 1-3 year old years is fashioned as exact miniatures of adult male clothing. Where the toddler girl clothing isnt it’s still very much "baby" clothing and hardly something an adult female would wear.

So…to the parents of boys..Would you like more options available when it comes to dressing your child? Or are you happy with the selections given?

Everyone..Do you think we are training are young males to think and be a certain way from a very early age?
Seems to me we are giving are girls all the options in the world…and still maintain strict gender roles for the baby boys/young boys.

Well I asked a question earlier about a baby boys room theme. And was for sure what I wanted to do for a girls theme which was, Lady Bugs. Like Lady bugs, flowers and the colors Light pink and light green. I don’t know what I’m having either. I’m actually only almost 9 weeks haha I’m just so excited!
Well I was googling the ideas the people gave me for a boys room. I found so many CUTE things for a girls room and a boys. So I am going to post them all :)
Just want to know which ones you like. for a boy and girl. PLEASE don’t put anymore theme suggestions or what you would do different. I don’t want to get so many themes to choose from cause they are ALL cute haha.

just copy and paste the whole thing haha This is the only way I know how to do it. I HOPE IT WORKS
THANKS EVERYONE

Baby bedding for boy?

Okay so I like these 2 beddings but I plan on putting aqua colored sheets on both and doing Aqua highlights throughout the room. It says the bedding is unisex and I want to use it for my baby boys room. Is it too girly? Do you like one over the other?
