I am a bargain shopper. I like sales, discounts and saving money! Any ideas where I can get baby clothes at good prices other than walmart/target/babies r us?
So I’m trying to be conscientious of everyone and their budgets as I register for our first baby. I am currently listed for 2 (Target and Babies R Us) in hope that it makes for more convenient shopping for everyone involved. I’m having 3 showers (his family, my friends since I don’t have family in the states, and work). We make more than his family, or mine and I want everyone to feel comfortable making purchases. I also don’t want anyone to feel as if I’m asking for too much. It’s a delicate topic. SO… Is this a good amount of product or too much? Is it realistic? Too expensive? If you were a guest coming to one of the showers would you feel as if I were being too greedy?

Editing to add that my parents bought the crib, mattress, dresser and changing table. So that’s taken care of. I’d buy it all myself, and don’t really care if I have to. I just don’t want to limit people. The only thing I might get sooner, rather than waiting is the carseat, since you never really know when you’ll need it, and its kind of importaint….
Also failed to mention that I directly report to the owner and CEO of my company and I feel as if they’ll get me a larger item for the work shower. So I feel as if I have to have something larger for purchase if that makes sense.
Thanks for your “help.” I’m not really certain what you mean by obsolete as we plan on having more children and will therefore use these items again. Cribs and car seats aren’t disposable where I live…
My registry is a list of items that I would purchase even if no one bought them for me. I don’t need gifts. I can buy this all and it won’t affect my finances. People would want to stab me, as people really do want to have a village feel in a new baby. I’d welcome any gift, and really even a card if that were all they can afford. It is not about the gift, it’s about celebrating my new baby!
Oh, and thanks for adding all this up for me. Now that I see the total, it’s not that much. I have friends that have spent that much on baby furniture alone. But I guess this is like the Olympics and you’re the Russian judge that low balls and nitpicks, and who’s opinion just gets tossed out in the end. There’s always the bitter, jealous, negative-Nelly, and here and now it’s you…

i am due in november with our first baby and its a boy!!! yaya!!!!
the problem im finding is clothing. there just doesnt seem to be a good or even a big selection of clothes for baby boy’s. ive only been able to find onsies for boy’s but no outfits or even pants. its getting really frusterating. im having 2 baby showers comming up, and i know ill probably get clothes there, but im not relying on gifts. i want to be prepared in case i dont get anything.
ive tried target, walmart even regular dept. stores like sears or jc penny’s and there still doesnt seem to be any selection. if there is its all blue or sports. i dont mind blue or sports, but we are doing his room in a teddy bear sports theme, and i want him to wear a varity of colors, and prints.
if you have a boy, did you run into this problem?
anyone know of store with a good selection of baby boys clothes?

We are at week 34 awaiting the arrival of our Babygirl. Gifts and hand-me-downs are starting to come in that we’re marking off the "need to get" list (per Babies R Us).
We still have lots we need to get, so I wanted to ask for your opinions. For all those moms and dads out there, I have attached, below, the Babies R Us "Parents Checklist." What is necessary? What is not? What is invaluable? What did you get on a whim and are eternally grateful for having? What turned out to be nothing but junk? What brands are the best (i.e., I hear that Boudreaux’s "Butt Paste" is the best there is)?
I’m starting to scout out Craigslist and eBay for deals (who the heck knew breast pumps were unbelievably expensive??? At least I can get new, in box items from eBay and save a few if I watch like a hawk!). If any of you have insights that you would share, we would be very grateful. Thanks!

I visited her in the States in October 2009 the result was a pregnancy…We were in love at the time however this woman has totally deceived me basically it seems as though she used me to get a baby as she said she was using contraception (i don’t use condoms i know im stupid) but basically now the relationship itself has fallen apart as quickly as it started. Now i am back in the States and she is behaving totally uncooperative and unfair. She said she will have the final say on the babies name which is really angering me because i want us to both agree on the name as any normal mother and father would regardless of the status of the relationship etc… Anyway just so you guys are aware i have spent in excess of 00 towards this whole situation..She is has been smoking ever since she has been pregnant which i didn’t know of until i arrived at her house in May. This makes my blood boil as she wont stop and now she is currently 34 weeks deep into the pregnancy.. I have bought her everything she needs for the baby including items beneficial to her i.e. electric breast pump etc. I gave her 0 (via western union) to decorate the baby’s room, 0 for a traveller system/ stroller and other items, now the latter i have mentioned i do not have receipts for however the stuff i purchased from Babies r Us and Target (babies clothes and equipment) i do have.. (I have been told by relatives to keep all relevant receipts). Basically i need advice (legal or general) so that i can ensure i am part of this babies life from the day it is born… The baby is is due Mid July, my main goals are to firstly obtain paternity via a DNA test then secondly ensure my name is on the childs birth certificate. Now i know she is going to demand child support payments however first of all when i get back to the UK i am currently unemployed and anyway i do not trust this girl with anymore of my money as she has fleeced me for all i have (all my savings went towards this "rainy day" trip) I do not trust her with any potential money i send her as i am sure she will use it towards her own bills and buying a car or whatever…ideally when i get a job i want to save money and put it away in a trust fund for the kid..however i know that she can then deny me visitation rights and furthermore refuse to take the child with her to visit his dad in the UK…Shes broken my heart and taken away my dream of having a happy and functional family…What do i do as i feel as though she has manipulated me to an almost evil extent taking advantage of me being in England and furthermore knowing that i am an honourable man not one of the typical breed to just up and leave denying all existence of their child.
Please help me with logical and precise advice becuase i feel almost hopeless and desperate for a resolution in a situation that started off genuine but has developed into anything but that.

well, i figured out last week im having a boy (yay!!!) i already have a little girl so i was happy. but anyways im so used to all the cute pink stuff that i didnt realize until i started looking how ugly little boy nursery bedding is!!! i mean its all the same, and the little girls have so much variety and cute stuff!
what kind of bedding did you use for your son? can anyone tell me anywhere else to look for boy bedding? ive looked on target, jc penny (saw a couple there i liked) sears, and even babies r us. i even googled it and looked at other web sites and still nothing!
