Does the T stand for toddler? How old are kids generally when they wear size 2T, 3T and 4T..? I haven’t had my baby yet and my fiance’s sister just gave me some cute girl clothes that are that size. I’m wondering if I should put them to the back of my baby’s closet for now, or if I should just put them in the basement if it’s going to be forever until she gets to wear them, lol. Thanks

My daughter is about 39 lbs and 3 years old. She has always been in the 97th -99th percentile for her weight.
Before you judge, her pediatrician says her weight is not a concern. Her father and I were both "chubby" toddlers that "thinned out" by the time we were 5 or 6 and we are guessing the same thing will happen to her. Both her father and I are now adults of healthy weight and height (I am 5’6" and 140 lbs and he is 5’11" and 185 lbs). She eats normally for her age and gets plenty of exercise. I am actually a very healthy cook and I work out 3-4 times per week at the gym, so the health of myself and my family is not something I take lightly.
The problem is that I can’t seem to find pants in her size that fit around her belly. All of the plus-sized clothing that I can find starts at a size 6. However, my daughter is only a 4T. This usually means I have to do one of 2 things: 1) Go up a size and have her pants hemmed or 2) Buy her pants with an elastic waist, which aside from sweatpants, are hard to find these days. I can’t possibly be the only parent with this problem.
Can anyone help me?

She is skinny and I can’t ever find jeans for her that fit good. She is 3years 8 months old. The size 3T fit her perfect from the waist but they are short in length. The 4T’s are way too big. Even with the adjustable waist they just don’t look right. Could I take them to a tailor to be fixed or would they look weird? She is a horrible eater(plus her dad is also skinny) so I don’t know what else to do to fatten her up a bit lol. Anybody else have the same problem?

Take the store Wal-Mart for example, when you shop in the baby/toddler section for clothing are the sizes 4T and 5T the same as the sizes XS, 4 and 5 in the "girls" section? If not, what is the difference?
My girls are almost ages 4 and 3 and are very tall!!! It’s hard to find shirts long enough in the arm and torso when buying clothing in 4T in the baby/toddler section, I didn’t know if it’s time to jump to the "girls" sizes.
Thanks for your help!

My son just moved into the 3T size, but I am buying bigger sizes in advance as I see them in thrift stores and at yard sales. I thought clothes just go 3T, 4T, 5Tand then 6, 7, etc… However, I’ve come across 4′s (is it the same as 4T)? Also, what is a XS, S, M, L equivalent to? I am so confused.

Does anyone know the guidelines for toddler cloths sizes? I am wondering what weight and height is printed on 2T, 3T and 4T clothes. Then I would also be interested if anyone knows what age a child "should" be to reach those height and weights printed? For example the weight and height printed on a 2T, should that be the "adverage" weight and height of a 2 year old? I hope this makes since. sorry I couldn’t find a better way to describe my question. thanks

Would you/do you dress your kids in 2nd hand clothing?
i mentioned to a friend that my mom used to get us clothing at goodwill and yard sales even tho we had money for store bought things. we wore from all 3 really i explained.
she was floored and flipped that kids should never wear 2nd hand things.
there is nothing wrong in my eyes. most things kids wear is grown out of so fast they wear it only a few times.
i don’t see a reason to pay -20 a shirt and for pants for an infant/toddler/child to wear a few times when you can get 2nd near new things for pennies on the dollar.
i got over 40 pcs of clothing for a 2t girl on ebay for total w/shipping and her mom spent 0 for clothing for her bday!
what makes ppl pay outrageous prices for clothing when you can get tons for cheap going 2nd hand… (you can just get specific things from store to "fill in" what you don’t get 2nd hand)
i found someone on craigslist who offered me a full bag of 3t for , and 2 contractor size bags of 4t and 5/6t for each !! new or near new can you beat it!!
