Since birth my daughter has gained and grew very quickly. She is now 21 months, about 6 inches taller than she should be and weighs about 50 pounds. She is also very muscular, strong, and smart. I am so worried about her…. and doctors can’t provide answers. She is getting so big now her feet hurt when she walks (they are big feet). She is also very hyper for a toddler and moves constantly, even kicking during her sleep at night. And her built (bones) is very thick as well.
Her diet now consists mostly of fruits, veggies, tofu, and alternative dairy products (she has a intolerance to daily). She is outside for 2 hours in the a.m, 2 hours in the p.m, and 1 hour after dinner. She is very active. Can anyone give me some advice on this? I am desperate. My husband and I have 2 other children, both 12, neither had an issue like this.
We saw a nutritionalist who said it was not her diet and that she actually eats less than she should in a day. We had a thyroid test and it showed her thyroid was slightly elevated (4.9). Doctors are confused as to why she is so big. They now are thinking its metabolism or a genetic disorder. I am moving just to get my child to a better doctor.
Here is examples of her growth.
~ at birth 8lb 2 oz
~ at 2 months old she was wearing a size 6 months
~ at 4 months old she wore a size 9 months and looked 8 months.
~ at 6 months she was 22 lbs and wore a 12 months clothing
~ at 11 months she was 30 lbs and wore a 2T
~ NOW, she is 21 mo and wears whatever fits her. ranging from 4T and up.
