My baby is 3 weeks old. When you are in the hospital, there will be so many people coming in and out of your room: Your OB, Pediatricians, Nurses, Cleaning People, and people drawing blood. You will want to sleep as much as possible because the baby will wake you up all the time with every little noise.
I’d recommend bringing an outfit to take him home in, but otherwise you’ll just want to swaddle him so you can quickly feed and put him back in his cradle. Everyone who checks on your baby (nurses, Pediatricians) will want the clothes taken off too.
Trust me you don’t need all those clothes. Bring cute hats, and fun swaddle blankets.. that’s all you really need. I put booties, and mittens on our baby before I swaddled him to keep his fingers and toes warm, and to keep him from scratching his face with his fingernails. You don’t need an actual outfit until you go home, or unless you just want to practice dressing him.
We took a couple outfits, and a couple sleepers, and ended up keeping her in the sleepers while we were in the hospital. The outfits were way too big! Sleepers worked great.
just dress him/her in something nice to wear on it’s way to the dumpster…
I would just bring something for your baby to wear home. You’ll have so many visitors and your baby will be swaddled the entire time no one is gonna even see or notice what your baby has on…
I would just take something cute for the ride home.
Just an outfit for the trip home, suitable for the weather, of course.
I brought clothes for my daughter and I’m glad we did. All they had were these like half shirt things that barely covered her top half and they were so rough and scratchy that it made my skin red laying her on me so I put her in stuff we brought. We will do the same next time around as well.
I would just leave the baby in whatever the hospital gives you and like another poster said just bring something else to swaddle the baby in, also if you want a cute hat, socks or mittens! Everyone will be in and out with the baby and doing shots and vitals every couple hours and you don’t need to added stress of a cute outfit! Your baby will be beautiful either way, so just an outfit home, remember though it winter so something nice and warm.
They told me i could dress my baby up for his hospital pictures! So take one and then another for baby to wear home!
The hospital provides everything you need for your baby’s stay including little wrap around shirts, swaddling blankets, socks, hats, and disposable diapers. If you plan to cloth diaper, you could bring some cloth diapers. If you want to take a special picture at the hospital, bring whatever blanket or clothing you want for the picture. Otherwise you only need an outfit for the trip home.
