Should I bathe my 3 week old infant everyday?
My pediatrician suggested bathing him only 3 times/week as to not dry out his skin. A bath really helps to calm him and help him relax for bed time. He has his days/night mixed up, so I find this is a good way to let him know it’s night and time for bed. If he has a bath, he will sleep 3-4 hours at a time. If he doesn’t, he is up every hour and a half.
Would it be better if I just do a full bath w/ shampoo and all 3 times/week and the other times just use clear water? Suggestions?

my daughter was the same way. what we did was..gave her a bath every other day. and the other days we’d just take a warm wash cloth and wash her off. it seemed to have the same effect as giving her a bath.
Do what the paed-ped- pad-Childrens doctor suggested!
No not every day, once every other day is perfectly fine as you’re giving his skin resting time.
no dont bath him every night it is bad for his skin try baby massage that works just as well as a bath
I had a reflux baby so I bathed him a couple times a day. I used Johnson’s Bed Time Bath and if required Johnson’s Bed Time Lotion. I never had a problem with his skin drying out.
I suggest to follow first what the pediatrician said and then ask him or her if how long will you be doing the 3 times / week bathing of your infant. You also ask if you can full bath your infant, it is for the safe of your baby not to get infected or something that might cause her to unsafe situation. : )
I have always bathed my children everyday on the odd occasion that they have not been bathed I have just top and tailed them ( i.e. wipe over with a warm wash cloth). if he he has dry skin use olive oil instead of the commercial baby lotions and give him a massage using the oil after a bath.
As much as you want to as he is getting into a good routine with the baths, i wouldn’t recommend a bath every night.
Newborns don’t get dirty, they only need to be bathed 3 times a week, any more than that its likely he will be very dry and all his natural body oils can’t come out.
My son is 11mos old, and we still bath him every other day, but as they get older sometimes you have to do it more, as they get there food every where, etc.
If your baby likes baths then do it, but if I were you, I would only use soap once or twice a week.
