definitely barefoot is best, or you can get soft soled shoes. robeez are really nice but expensive. target sells a less expensive brand of these called ministar, but they’re not nearly as nice. they’re ok if you don’t get them wet though!
whatever you get, it’s best that your toddler be able to feel the floor so that s/he can learn to balance more easily and naturally.
Any soft soled shoe without arch support (flat feet are good for toddlers), like Robeez, PediPeds, Soft Star Shoes, See Kai Run or even Target’s brand of soft shoes – you want plenty of flexibility and no real support so that they can feel the surface of what they’re walking on and their feet can roll. Seems weird that an infant needs that, but it’s best for their development and balance.
Soft soled are good for now- once baby is walking out in public, you’ll need a more protective shoe. We went to Stride Rite and got her fitted (she has fat feet!) and got a nice pair of shoes on sale. I highly recommend them.
go to target and get those leather shoes that are like wraps….that way, they can experience a kind of bare-footed walking experience and its nice and clean
Soft soled shoes…once he is fully walking, stride rite
