Unless you have a premie or a really tiny baby, the 0-3 month clothes will work just fine. Don’t get the newborn size as they will last maybe a week before baby outgrows them anyway.
Stock up on the 3-6 month size too as baby grows super fast and you’ll be needing those bigger sleepers before you know it!
Congrats!!
0-3 months can be used on a newborn!
They always worked for my babies who were all under 8lbs at birth
Yeah I wouldn’t worry, I would get maybe one newborn outfit. Only so that when you take your hospital pictures it won’t be all baggy on her. My son was 8 lb 4 oz and 21" when he was born. He only wore his newborn clothes for about a week or two, but would have been just fine in the 0-3 exclusively.
So, if you want an outfit that fits great in the hospital grab a newborn outfit, if not then you should be set!
Good Luck!
Sure! I would suggest buying perhaps one or two onesies for her in case she is smaller, but I assure you she’s gonna outgrow them quickly! My son grew into the 0-3 months sized clothes in a couple of weeks as he filled out. At first they did look gigantic on him, but in the long run you’ll save yourself plenty of worry and money by just using what you’ve got. If you’re really concerned get some newborn size t-shirts. They fasten in the front and look like little white tees on baby, and are so much easier to put on esp. with their little umbilical cord healing!
Congrats!
Some 0-3mos did not fit my baby. SHe was born at 7lb 8.5oz and was 8lb by 2wks. A lot of them just didn’t fit well. They will fit, just will be loose. My baby is 11lb now and can still fit a few newborn sizes lol.
You may want to get a few newborn things, not many because she will grow out of them, but a fw dresses that she fits really well for pictures is a good thing to have… and to keep for keepsakes :
Don’t bother with newborn size. 0-3 will be just fine.
My son was 8 pounds, 8 ounces when he was born, and never even got to wear some of the newborn clothes he had.
sure! a newborn can wear those. most of the time that’s the best size to get for a newborn because most newborn clothes are very very small and preemies can fit them. it all just depends on the size of your baby
they will work, babies grow fast in their first year anyways…you will need new clothes soon
congrats!
I would suggest to go ahead and buy some newborn sizes. The doctors told me my son would be anywhere from 10-11 lbs when he was born. So I bought like 5 0-3 months and the rest 3-6 months. (His dad is a hoss.. 250lbs 5’11" and 6% body fat so I figured he’d be huge). But he was only 7lbs 2 oz when he was born and lost 6 oz in the hospital. So my mom had to go buy us some newborn sizes. Even they were a little to big. So it’s better to be safe than sorry!
Even now at 2 months, my son is 11lbs and can still fit into some preemie clothes, all newborn clothes, and very few 0-3 months. It’s kinda odd!
My daughter was 6 lbs 10 oz at birth, 20 inches long… and the 0-3 months clothes were huge on her… luckily i had some newborn sleepers that she wore for the first 3 weeks.. after that the 0-3 worked for about 2 weeks and now, at 8 weeks old she’s wearing 6 month sleepers.. The ones that are 0-3 month and 3-6 month that have the footies on them are too short and she can’t straighten her legs..As of today she is 11 lbs 14 oz and 22 inches long.. so, i don’t go by the sizes they put on the tags..lol.. cause if my 2 month old can perfectly fit into 6 month old jammies then the sizes are off for me..lol.. but, with normal outfits with no footies she is wearing 3 month old stuff and at 2 weeks old she was wearing preemie dresses. They grow so fast it’s hard to keep them in anything cause once u find a few things that work u tend to stick to them. As far as outfits go…u don’t really go anywher enough in the first few weeks to need a bunch of outfits for that size.. i kept everything with the tags still on it so i could return them to the store if she didnt’ wear it.. So, once a week i go through her closet and see what would fit her that i know i will put on her.. i put the other stuff off to the side and once she’s too big for them and they still have the tags i take them back to the store they came from and buy new stuff for her in bigger sizes
I would focus on the larger sizes – they can wear clothes that are a bit too big, but not clothes that are too small!
new born sizes are not needed.
my son weighed 7lbs. and we started him in 0-3 month sizes. yes they were big on him at first, but he grew into them in no time
