Problems with clothes for my newborn?
My baby is 6 weeks old and she doesn’t quite fit her 0-3 months clothes. She can fit in her t-shirts, but not the pants. She is about 9 1/2 pounds right now and a little over 22 inches. I know she’s longer then the average baby is. But it’s starting to get cold and her pants fall off of her when I try them on. Is their any baby clothing stores that have pants that should fit her? I’ve tried babysrus, gymboree, baby gap… Nothing works. It’s starting to get cold… Does this mean she’ll be wearing sleepers for a while and long sleeve tshirts? Any suggestions?

I had the same sort of problem with my daughter. I put her in sleepers for the most part. They are so much easier and they are warm.
I bought her larger outfits (6m+) size and made do.
But she mostly wore sleepers..easy,.comfy..warm.
My daughter was 9lbs 3 oz when she was born..about the same length too.. she didnt fit 0-3 m clothes very long at all!
instead of 0/3 months clothes try preemie clothes, that’s what i had to do with my son when he was that little
Try preemie clothes. Most 0-3 months clothes are big. Or you can try the actual size newborn. It is smaller than 0-3 mos. Wal-mart has that size. Hope this helps!
did you try walmart… heres the thing my daughter had the same problems. my daughter is 11 pounds and is still in newborn clothes she barely fits into her 0-3 months her onesies yes made by gerber i go to target alot so i tried circo and shes too small.. just try the smaller size and dont be afraid to try it on her in the store. just get a smaller size
fleece sleepers
try to buy seperate pants and shirts. you’ll find that this may not be the only time that her pants and tops fit differently. my daughter has had this problem since birth
Now is a great time to ask an elder family member or friend to teach you to sew. You will need this skill for hemming your child’s favorite pants, sewing on buttons, making that costume that they can’t find anywhere else later on in life. You can take the pants in while learning a handy new lesson in life. If you don’t have someone to ask Singer gives sewing classes.
Last November my twins were born @ 32 weeks. Nothing fit their little bodies, No one sold preemie clothing at the time. Now WalMart sells preemie clothing and diapers.
Try WalMart and I believe BabiesRUS sells preemie clothing too.
Hope this has helped you.
I wouldn’t go getting her smaller clothes as she’ll probably have a growth spurt when you least expect it. Maybe get her some tights to wear under her clothing to keep her warm. Or some jumpsuits that’s what babies are usually most comfortable in.
IF YOUR BABY IS 9 1/2 LBS THERE IS NO REASON HER PANTS SHOULD "FALL OFF OF HER" SHE ISN’T STANDING UP ANY WAY.
My daughter has similar problem and I always just used the one piece rompers with feet. They come in fleece for winter and are very comfortable. My daughter practically lived in them for the first year of her life. I know Carters has a good selection of them for reasonable prices.
My daughter is having the same problem with her baby that is now one week old. She weighed 7 lbs 6 oz and was 19 inches long but the newborn clothes or 0-3 month are HUGE on her!! We bought a couple preemie outfits & they fit her good. Otherwise I would just put her in sleepers and be done with it – they are warmer anyways.
When my daughter was born, we had the same problem. Nothing would fit her. We just mainly kept her in sleepers. They are warm and comfy, cute and cuddly. At six weeks of age, she should be in what’s comfortable for her. She doesn’t really care right now what she looks like, as long as she is warm, fed, burped, changed and clean, she is happy. Congrats on the little one. There is nothing more joyful then a baby.
