Knitting baby blanket?
I want to make a blanket for my baby. I can’t knit to save my life, I have tried desperately for years to learn, and I have never been able to. I used to try and crochet for a couple of years, but everything always came out looking horrible, I either made the stitches too loose or too tight and could never keep them even. I saw these looms and easy knitter kits at Walmart and was wondering if anyone has ever used these or something similar to make a baby blanket? And if you have, what was the best thing you used?

You might be interested in a not well know craft called knooking. Its knitting with a crochet hook. There is a group on Ravelry and Yahoo. Its actually knit stitches you can convert almost all stitches in knitting to knooking. Knit, purl,yo,inc, dec and can do cables too!!! You could google "knooking" and get some results also. All you need is a modified crochet hook. I have made 1/2 dozen hooks pretty easy to make one. If you have crocheted all you need to know are slip stitches, and your on your way.
You can knit all sorts of baby things, including a baby blanket, with a loom. Check it out: http://www.knittingpatterncentral.com/directory/loom_knitting.php
well i have been knitting for two years and have some experience in loom knitting, there are plenty of looms to choose from, and i would recommend getting the long loom series nifty knitter looms at a craft store. they usually have easy knitting instructions included and are easier to use than needles for most people. you could use a simple stockinette stitch for it, and it wouldn’t take very long. just make sure to get a super bulky weight baby yarn to make it thick and warm. good luck to you and god bless!
