Is it rude not to open cards that contain money/gift cards at baby shower?
I plan to have a wishing well or card box at my shower. I plan to open all the "gifts" at the shower so people can "oooh and ahhh" over the cute baby clothes…that’s what showers are all about
However, I was going to wait until after the shower to open the cards from the wishing well that could contain gift cards/money. Is this rude? I don’t want the card-giving people to feel like other people may think they didn’t bring a gift, you know? I know I can simply open the cards and discreetly remove the money/gift card, but I’d really rather just open all those cards later at my house.

what i did was open the cards w/money and or gift cards and the thanked whoever it was from and put it back in the envelope and to my side…this way the people wont feel left out and you wont worry about losing whats inside…congrats on your upcoming little one and have a great shower!!!
if i was you i would just open there.
because you wouldn’t want them to feel kinda left out.
Open them while you are there so the giver can be acknowledged.
I just did the gifts. I didn’t want to worry about losing any loose money/gift cards. they’re better left to be opened. if I gave a gift card, I wouldn’t be offended if it weren’t opened in front of everyone. if I felt the need to show off my gift to you, I’d bring something for you to open and show off.
